Re: Julia's 2015 - September/October - End of the Year

Seoul

(1)Begu v Q
Hercog v Davis
Q v Larsson
Arruabarrena v (7)Goerges

Good section for Julia, Arruabarrena on hard has to be beatable and the latest result of her were really bad, Larsson is not bad lately but still limited and has to be beatable as well when Julia plays on her "normal" level...then it could get tougher but still not too hard, all chances to go far!

But no clue, no coach yet? Maybe Julia will have trouble with the current situation, good luck anyway..

i think the winner of Begu/Hercog vs. Jules will go on the final... Very big opportunity here...

I'm guessing no new coach so far, otherwise she would've written something about it in her press release. QF seems very reachable here.

Re: Julia's 2015 - September/October - End of the Year

Julia won 61 64!
Good start for her

I only was able to catch the last games, she looked good in general but those 3 DFs in a row at *53 were just bad, followed by an easy FH UE, lost concentration there shortly (as often) but her last service game was much better.
I am pretty sure that the ball from Arruabarrena at MP for Julia was out already, so I am happy that this call was not important in the end anymore...

Re: Julia's 2015 - September/October - End of the Year

From 6-1,5-2 she was excellent, then her usual choke set in, but she did well to win her last game with ease. Good to see her doing well with Nensel out of the picture.

Solid start.

Any on-court coaching?

^Not that I saw. Julia made it look so simple at times. Lots of winning points with wide serves and then into the open space. Easy does it.

But then she double-faulted three straight times and literally broke herself when serving for the match to remind us who she is.

Good Next opponent should be Jo-la (unless she flops to Melichar).

After the 2nd DF at 5-3, I calmly shut my laptop and walked away quickly. I was too afraid to check the results until now . Glad to see the choke-o-rama was a brief detour .

3rd match after 12:00 against Larsson tomorrow, so maybe morning-ish in Europe.

Lost in straight sets to Larsson. That result kinda speaks for itself.

Re: Julia's 2015 - September/October - End of the Year

First opponent who is in decent shape and she immediately loses the match..
Larsson made 7 DFs but still only one break for Julia, always great to see how Julia is able to make everyone look like Karlovic at times, 1st set was typical also, comes back from 3-5 to 5-5 just to fuck it up again.

Last time she won two MD matches in a row was at RG....Kuala Lumpur and Auckland she reached the QFs, those 4th rounds at Melbourne and RG, not much more happened this year, that´s really really disappointing.

Anyway, let´s hope that she will find a coach soon, a good one, so we can hope for changes in 2016 at least but I am a bit worried as she really needs a good experienced one and I am afraid that she will surprise us with some weird choice of coach

Re: Julia's 2015 - September/October - End of the Year

One problem is that now she's in a bad position to hire a good coach. If she had fired Nensel 2 or 3 years ago she surely could've gotten a quality coach, being a Top 20-ish player.
