I'd imagine the mod or admin who deleted your posts was pretty fed up at being drawn into this spat and gave it as little of his or her attention as he or she could get away with in deciding that the forum rules were not on your side. If you want to be angry, be angry with the person who reported your posts. I have no more idea than you who that might be, which is to say we're both 99.99% sure we know who it was.
I wouldn't have reported your posts: I shocked myself once by reporting a post in another subforum and don't really want to go there again. But I can assure you that Bruce is not the only person who is sick of wading through outside-the-scope posts here about the sublimely uncharismatic Thomas Birdbrain.
Apologies in advance for this post, I'm sure we all value your non-Berdych stuff. I'll probably regret posting, but I can't bear to throw this away.
Oh G_d, I'm so slow. I think we can say 100% now.
Can knowledgeably state that mods sift through forums that have been sources of problems in the past, even when no complaint has been filed. However, you deserve the respect of candor, and I'll freely admit that I complained over the irrelevant non-Petra-related garbage that has frequently spewed forth...95%,probably,from one poster. On the street,I can politely ask my neighbor to turn his radio down at 3am when I have to work the next day.If he refuses,I can kick his punk ass in the teeth and then smash his speakers over his head...then explain myself to the police if he chooses to call them and explain why someone was so upset over his stereo. Here at TF,though, the most limp-wristed weasel, who wouldn't dare look you in the eye in the real world, can 'bravely' hide behind a near-anonymous poster name.
What you and the pleasant, easygoing Jack are unaware of is that the poster you replied to is a pathetic,bullshit-spouting hypocrite.Live and let live
??What you DIDN'T see was how he cried like a little bitch when some of us criticized Petra's manager...acting as if it were some sort of anti-Czech racism. Then he claimed that it was completely off-topic and that we should ONLY do it in a special thread that he created for that purpose, though he took EVERY opportunity to promote said manager even when there was nothing remotely pertinent to Petra in the post(I actually complied with his request, btw).Just check his asinine comments that he was 'kind enough to not report the off-topic threads'
--which virtually EVERY forum has...and are the perfect places for his irrelevant babble,anyway--and you realize that you're dealing with someone who possesses juvenile reasoning skills
.It's like having a sleazy politician complain about corruption in society;the TOPIC is worthy, but you just dismiss the source when he/she has ZERO credibility
Can't say WHY TF established the no-men's-tennis rule originally, but it might have something to do with the arrogant disdain that many ATP fans show towards the women's game.Because I actually have a job, often working mornings AND nights,I post here FAR less often than most of the biggest babblers here.I normally come here twice a day and likely wouldn't come more often even if I had the whole day free,as some posters apparently do.When aye DO come,I expect people to follow the same rules that I'M compelled to follow...posting about PETRA,not about types of housepaint, cadavers on the streets of Mexico,or how Petra can supposedly 'learn from an ATP player's match'
I'd have just a smidgen of respect for our obsessive ATP lover if he came out and admitted that he phrased his post,as indicated in the last sentence of the paragraph above,as a phony pretext for dodging TF rules and initiating yet another discussion about men's tennis. The fact that he would persist in such an absurdly-transparent,kindergarten-caliber lie--that he was REALLY hoping that Petra would learn from that match--and that he had NO intention of fomenting another pageful of ATP crap......Well,you pretty much forfeit the right to respect when you tell the sort of lie that only a crackhead would say.
Personally,I think that Petra is plenty interesting in her own right, and she offers ample topics for discussion.Plus, there are lots of intriguing sidebars in chatting about whatever tournament Petra has entered into...or her Fed Cup teammates...or even her team.I know that there are lots of gays here at TF but,if one find men's tennis THAT irresistible that he CAN'T control himself from cluttering Petra's thread by concocting phony excuses to inject such chat, then that speaks to psychological problems...even for the horniest, flaming gay(can imagine a funeral where he looks down on the deceased in the coffin, turns to his widow, and says,"Hey,I heard that he was a BIG Agassi fan
").IMO,this is not a censorship issue AT ALL.There is Men's Tennis Forum--and likely countless similar ones--plus the numerous off-topic threads here at Women's Tennis Forum. If THAT'S not enough, then someone can follow Berdych around and offer to be his personal,fellatio-performing bitch whenever his gf can't travel.Who knows?Maybe he'd LIKE that offer
.Regardless,it's not incumbent upon Petra fans to open her forum to any and all whims and hobbies that don't focus on Petra herself
