I am afraid this is not going to change soon (the shape of her torso) because I read somewhere that the training regime was focused mostly on her legs (to improve her footwork) but I haven't read anything about her torso.

Maybe just a bad angle. But she will never have abs, that's for sure..))
She must do abs exams at least 300 times per day. I doubt Petra is ready for this-)

Too much over analysis of Petra's stomach (not you perse).

As you said; it could just be a bad angle?

The proofs in the pudding, and what she does on the court. Thats yet be seen, will be determined.

Petra may never lose that pouch completely (at least for the Cameras, at certain angles). So why do we sweat it so much?

For any of us, who's seen pictures and video of Petra 3-5 yrs ago (2007-2009), it's apparent how far she's truly come in the physique department. The rest may be more conditioning, explosiveness, coordination, with less abdominal body sculpting (to some TF critics chagrin).

We'll see (her season; body, conditioning, explosiveness, footwork, her tennis game; attitude, mental strength; everything)??!!!!! SMH/LOL

Analysis?? None is needed. She's still not in peak or near-peak shape with a very unconditioned core.

Given that most people viewing the set of pics expressed that opinion in various ways, I'm surprised there are still a few who attempt to deny it. Camera angles? C'mon man . .the post had shots from 3 different angles. I don't get it. Calling things as they are doesn't mean she can't have a very good season it just means she ain't all she can be. In fairness to her and her team . . .5 weeks isn't always a lot of time to gain fitness in "problem" areas.

Her legs don't look particularly fit at those angles either. I guess we will have to see how she plays.
Maybe good results = feeling more like applying herself to conditioning.
I do think it is ironic that she is dating Stepanek, who at 35 is obviously keeping himself in the game through sound conditioning. Say what you will the guy doesn't look like he is going to give out anytime soon.

Re: Photos of Petra Kvitova

Yeah, Stepanek is in great shape. Petra, not so much. On the other hand, a little more sting on her serve and the elimination of the DFs would do more than a six-pack for her results.

"I really have friends on the tour, and I'm really happy for it. ...I remember when I was young and someone told my father that I'm too nice for tennis. So I'm just glad that I can be nice off the court and fighting on the court." Petra Kvitova, May 8, 2005

Yes . . .and . . .maybe. They're not separate things. A stronger core would mean she gets that pop and sizzle more consistently and expends less overall energy in every stroke.

It's so passe now.

If we believe, she's been training so hard with Radek and his people (as many of you think/say she is), give her a chance to prove it on the court?

To judge her for every picture, and every angle (especially at this point) is so ridiculous, so early in the season. I'm more interested in her results at this point, and that's to be determined.

Whatever major training she's allegedly done, has been [mostly] completed already, until the next break in her season. So why hand ring over it, instead of poor results on the court (if/when they come)?

I guess, so many of us are so hard up for tennis, we'll pick her apart, basically before the season even starts. Lol

I'm not saying people can't make a comment. Sure! I'm just saying, it's so premature to pick her apart, before we actually see her play during the season. And I've been a big critic of Petra, her team, and when/where/how/who she she trains with , the past several years.
