Sydney? So whatever happen there it will be good for her. If she lose, she will have one week to prepare to AO, if she win it will be so amazing.

Re: Mirjana on a mission. Australia 2011.

It'll be a great challenge and it will show us how can she perform against players in the top 50, so far we've only seen mediocre players, and good players. Not normal lol

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Interesting choice, hope she does well. Would have thought that she would play in Hobart, but this may end up being a better experience for her. So excited for the 2011 season to begin!

Re: Mirjana on a mission. Australia 2011.

i was expecting hobart too, but this is a good choice. even if she only gets one match in, she'll at least get a good guage of where she has to be for the AO

ugh, why do they all suck????????

Re: Mirjana on a mission. Australia 2011.

Mirjana now in Auckland, ready to hit the practice courts and adjust to the conditions/time-difference/etc. I'm also pleased that she is willing to test herself against the tougher field later on in Sydney; she is, as we know, particularly inspired when taking-on top tier "name" players.

She's trained extra hard. Mentally she is ready. No player is going to want to see her name in their portion of the draw.

What a relief that she finishes 2010 (and starts 2011!) as one of the globe's 100 best players again. Amazing ... this time last year she was dragging herself to crappy challengers. Now she's back in the big leagues and ready to compete with anyone.

She's certainly seeded ... it will be interesting to watch this season get started; Mirjana's been working really really hard~

Though draw. Lisicki in 2R, then Mirza in 3R. Good tests.

Re: Mirjana on a mission. Australia 2011.

Q-draw for WTA Auckland is out. This is her section of the draw:

(2) Mirjana Lucic (CRO) v Maria Irigoyen (ARG)
Stephanie Dubois (CAN) v Sabine Lisicki (GER)
Silvia Soler Espinosa (ESP) v Anne Kremer (LUX)
Sania Mirza (IND) v (8) Stefanie Voegele (SUI)

Sabine in the same part of the draw
Mirza had a good run in Dubai.

At least Irigoyen is winnable. As for those potential matches against Lisicki and Mirza, I hope Mirjana is mentally and emotionally ready--because I'm not!
