So she'll be playing 5 tournaments in a row.She desperately wants a good run somewhere. And what's the situation with the Mickey Mouse WTA finals in this chinese city.Is she in right now?
I think in theory she could still go to Zhuhai. She only needs two withdrawals, because I'm pretty sure neither Azarenka or Makarova who will be first recipients from withdrawals right now will play.
Keys seems like she might not play again this season, and I can easily see Venus/Pennetta, one of whom is likely to qualify for Zhuhai, withdrawing.
In terms of performance, it's really hard to take many positives from how she is playing. But she was also playing poorly going into Sofia last year.
Louxembourg couldn't be better, even the only good part of her game-fighting till the last point was gone. Crying and crying again is annoying, totally a mess, even worse than the season begin.
Well Petra was a useful ball girl during practice today... Her hitting partner was a useful hitting partner too.... And seriously, who needs a coach, thats waste of money
I assume Zhuhai has alternates. She's basically guaranteed to be one of those minimum. Whether she'd want that is another thing, but like I say I still think it's pretty likely she gets into the event anyway. She doesn't really sound like she wants to play again this season though. I assume you don't get a zero pointer for Zhuhai being mandatory if you only get in as a next in?
I'm guessing (and it's just guessing, enough wta rulebook reading for today) that if you make the MD before the tournament it's mandatory, if you're an ALT and then someone withdraws during the tournament it's not.
At least there's good thing. She ends her season and she WANTS A COACH. So a terrible ending might not be that bad. She finally realize that thing cannot go right without a proper coach.
5-7 6-2 5-7 is a really frustrating scoreline. Andrea did not win the important points
What a choke in 1st set: Andrea was leading 5-3, but lost the next 4 games in a row to lose the set 5-7. With piss-weak play, only stupid easy UEs from Andrea to lose this 1st set. And bad serving. That was shockingly bad
In 2nd set Andrea played a bit better, but nothing special. That was enough to win a set against Doi
Andrea then played weak tennis again in 3rd set. Many stupid UEs, no footwork/movement, no concentration, sometimes too passive, just standing there
Some bad decisions from chair umpire against Andrea at the end of the match. But they were NOT the reason why Andrea lost. Andrea should have won the 1st set, but messed it up with piss-weak tennis
Andrea has become mentally so weak, her footwork/movement is really bad, and her serve is weaker than ever. She is only a shadow of the Top 10 player she used to be
Andrea plays at a very low level now, and there is no injury or illness she can blame her poor performance on. I never thought Andrea would become so inconsistent, mentally weak, move so bad and make so many easy UEs
I`m really worried about Andrea. She is in a deep slump. And no injury/illness is the reason. She also must work on her sucky serve
