I have to say it: I am worried
I know that Puig is a bad matchup for Andrea and Puig played a great match for sure, but Andrea was in complete control until 5-2. Serve worked well and she went for her shots. Then she completely collapsed again and choked the set away like in almost every set after Doha  The things she said during her OCCs ("I'm useless" etc.) really are worrying. I hope that she can recover from this soon and get some confidence/belief ...

She carried her anger through the Barbs and Garcia matches. Today it was just enough with being patient and the volcano errupted.

I think it's funny, how dramatic everybody reacts. Last year, she played so much worse.
Yeah, she should have won those matches, but those were losses against tough opponents.
Fate is not on her side at the moment, but things will change again and she'll get the opponents, that make a change.

Disappointing 5-7 2-6 loss to Puig from Andrea

What a collapse from Andrea since 5-2. Was ein Einbruch

Andrea is mentally a big mess. Very emotional, negative and choking

She was too passive and her serve so weak. A shadow of what she used to be

I see nothing positive. Maybe Andrea needs a new coach

... Maybe Andrea needs a new coach
I don't think that would be of any help. Her biggest problem is currently her mental state - something a coach can barely influence. Changing the team again would just lead to more instability.

What really worries me is how much she's loosing control: crying on court is one thing but speaking out loudly her desperation ("I'm useless") is a new level.
She seems to be trapped in a vicious cycle where she is in fear of getting in fear of loosing or whatever. I guess there's something fundamental inside her that she needs to resolve - however, only reading biographies of artists will for sure not be of any help.

Andrea :bigcry:

Painful 4-6 7-6 4-6 loss to Halep in Fed Cup

But Andrea fought so hard. And what a match ! :worship:

Great rallies, especially in 2nd and 3rd set :hatoff:

And the atmosphere was amazing in Cluj-Napoca :hearts:

Please beat Begu today. Germany needs this win !

How many epic matches she had now in Fed Cup? She's just a great fighter. Hopefully she can transform that confidence she has at the moment into the Stuttgart tournament. Mladenovic's form isn't that great so maybe she can end her losing streak on WTA level here.

Epic 0-6 7-6 6-3 win in Fed Cup vs Niculescu, Andrea !

Andrea saved 2 match points when down at 5-6 and 15-40 in set 2. Amazing !

Sooo proud of her. Andrea fought like a lioness. And she was mentally so strong :worship:

With this win Germany stays in World Group 1 ! :hearts:

Easy win against Mladenovic, Andrea ! :D

The Fed Cup win has obviously given her self-confidence
Andrea looked more relaxed, confident and secure on the court

Set 1
Andrea: 10 Winners, 6 UEs
Mladenovic: 9 Winners, 11 UEs

Match
Andrea: 20 Winners, 17 UEs
Mladenovic: 24 Winners, 26 UEs

Now a very tough task with #1 seed A.Radwanska. Head To Head is 0-6
