ELS

A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.

OMG Els! The doubles title must be yours.

Such a weak field
Show them you and Babsi are the one and only #1 seed

Els Callens (BEL) d. (6) Marissa Irvin (USA) 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2)

This is Els' first quarterfinal since 1999 Luxemburg where she lost to Clijsters. But she reached a lot of Round of 16 since then, but never made it to the quarters. CONGRATS ELSJE
I'm so happy

Next up: Samantha Reeves

Wow, I did not know this. Els in the quarters after defeating hot Bielek and seed number 6. Where will this run end?

2000-2007: My "Kim years". My best years as a tennis fan. A few bitter losses but a lot of great matches and great wins. Thank you, Kim Clijsters!
26.03.2009: More Kim years to come!

Els has had some good results this summer, and climbed back up the rankings from (roughly) 180 to 70. Let's hope she can keep this going. You never know, maybe she'll make the final? That would be great!

Hey, Rhythmboy, I was still recovering from an overdose of tennis (US Open).

BTW, am I the only one who thinks Els Callens should get the award for the comeback of the year?
