Welcome to Brussels, Belgium! As the European red clay season draws to its climax at the French Open in Paris, we have one last premier event this week where players can get in some last-minute preparation for the second major of the year. With the looming thought of the French Open so soon, not all of the top teams decided to play Brussels, but some of those who haven't been in the best form lately and would like to pick it up for Paris have decided to attempt to find this in Brussels - for example the top seeds Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond of the USA. The second and third seeds, Klaudia Jans and Alicja Rosolska, both of Poland, as well as Raquel Kops-Jones teaming with Abigail Spears, both of the USA as well, have both enjoyed their fair shares of good results on the PYW doubles tour, although both are hoping to make that extra step and pick up a premier title, and now is as good a time as ever. Another interesting team could be former cancer-stricken player Sandra Klemenschits, who is teaming with Swiss Patty Schnyder, who will be retiring after the French Open. Brussels is a brand new event this year, and it replaces Warsaw, which Virginia Ruano Pascual and Meghann Shaughnessy won last year (pictured), so all these teams are hungry to win the inaugural crown in Belgium. Only you can decide who will get it. Vote now as the Brussels Open by GDF SUEZ gets underway!!!
