GDF SUEZ reinforces its commitment to women's tennis in Europe by participating in the creation of the new WTA tournament in Belgium: "Brussels by GDF SUEZ Open." The Group will be the lead partner ("presenting partner") for the next four years.

GDF Suez hopes to play a role in the promotion of major events that allow players to perform to Belgian audiences and provide the public with quality events.

The Group confirms his support for several years in women's tennis in Belgium. Indeed, apart from the tournament in Hasselt (2004-2006), GDF SUEZ has supported two years' GDF SUEZ Diamond Games in Antwerp and some meetings of the Fed Cup. GDF SUEZ has also sponsored the 2009 "Women Tennis Trophy held in Charleroi.

The Brussels by GDF SUEZ Open is a tournament of the category "Prime" with a prize purse of $ 618 000. It will be held from 14 to 21 May in Brussels, on clay at the Royal Tennis Club Primrose. This tournament will bring together the best players in the world a week before Roland Garros. Caroline Wozniacki (No. 1), Vera Znovareva (No. 3) Francesca Schiavone (No. 4) Jelena Jankovic (No. 8), Shahar Peer (No. 11) and Yanina Wickmayer (No. 25) have already confirmed their participation.

"Fine words." Tyrion was unimpressed. "Words are wind. Who is this bloody savior?"
"A dragon." The cheesemonger saw the look on his face at that, and laughed. "A dragon with three heads."

Why on Earth is Wozniacki playing here? I understand why she played Warsaw, but this is crap unless the appearance fee is really that good

Weird that the Director wouldn't be promoting Venus' appearance.
