Recommend a racket and strings

Hello!

I'm looking to upgrade from my Yonex RQiS 1 Tour because it's been about 7 years. I've loved that racket so much, first from my love of Ivanovic (lol) and then I tried the racket and it's perfect for my game.

I've evolved a bit though, and I'd like some input on a good racket.

I've been playing tennis for nearly 20 years now, and was scouted to play in college (didn't, because I was a music major and trying to mix the collegiate sport and tennis would have been a disaster).

Never was rated on the NTRP, but looking at YouTube clips and trying to do some personal assessment, I'd say I am 5.5-6.0 player. I like playing more of a Clijsters like game, counterpunch and wait for the opportunity. Work the points more. My favourite surface is clay.

Any suggestions?

Re: Recommend a racket and strings

What are you looking for in a racquet? Spin, power, control? What are your strokes like? What are you preferred specs?

I would recommend my racquet to anyone who can wield a racquet with a higher swing weight. The Yonex Ezone Ai 100. It's a solid beast.

Serena Williams. Maria Sharapova.

Wozniacki. Stosur. Jankovic. Bouchard. Halep. Muguruza.
Venus. Stephens. Cornet. Hampton. Bencic.
Seles. Henin. Davenport. Hingis. Clijsters.

My strokes are pretty big. I'm looking for control more than spin or power, though spin would be a nice by-product as I have fairly flat strokes. I take a big cut though.

I'll have to look at the Ezone Ai.

Re: Recommend a racket and strings

I recommend the Yonex VCore Tour G 330 is think is what it's called. It's wawrinka's racquet. I just tried it and it totally elevated my game. I'm shocked. SO good. It's a control oriented player's racquet.

I'll have to demo it!

Plus, just like Ivanovic, Stan is my boo thang so it will be easy to get me to part with money for that racket
