Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I have thrown all my racquets to the ground several times and I think I broke the Yonex I say think because I'm not sure if I actually broke it, it looked okay on the outside but at some point I started missing a lot more balls than usual with it so maybe something went wrong on its inside.

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I broke one a few days ago and I'm not sure how it happened. I don't remember it hitting the ground recently although I was doing a lot of serving with it.

Never in my life, I could never imagine breaking one when I can't afford to replace them. Especially the racquet I have right now which my parents got me for Christmas.

Never ever. They cost too much money and at the end of the day its just a game its not that imporant if you lose a match or a game you will do better next time.

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I used to throw my racquet softly on the ground, to not break it. But one time my throw was so good that the racquet floated along the ground and raced straight into the fence post. That was pretty amazing.

I don't do that anymore since I dont have a reason to get super frustrated.

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I've dropped / tossed it on the ground but never slammed it. Which is quite remarkable considering my competitive nature. I've broken baseball bats, but not tennis racquets.

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I've broken 7 in 13 years of playing the sport, of that 7 I know 2 were accidental (not being careful with the car door and slipping in a clay court and my frame hitting at just the wrong angle) the other 5 were victims of violent outbursts.

The positive news is that I haven't broken one in over a year!

TT Singles: 2014 SF: Bogota, New Braunfels. 2013 F: Las Vegas, SF: Orlando, Sibenik.
TT Doubles: 2014 W: Trnava w PinkTape. 2013 W: St Martin, Orlando, Sibenik, Charlottesville, Nantes-YEC all w Soliloque; Lexington w DJDVD.

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I've never broken it, but I bent the frame (once) on a 190 dollar racquet. TOO MUCH DAMN MONEY, and I don't usually have anger problems. I showed off in front of my friends and I regret it

I did accidentally break one though. I was serving and it snapped (it was when I first started playing and I had a Target bought racquet). The worst

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

I had like a 200$ Wilson racket that I accidentally broke. My hands get really sweaty when I play so I need to keep a rather fresh overgrip and also use the powder during the summer, but that day I didn't have any and I hit a serve and it slid from my hand and the frame broke

Re: Have you ever smashed/broken your racquet?

2 Not Safin style, but they were unusable. When I was playing badly especially against players I knew I was better than, I could get pretty obnoxious

Now I only have 1 because I don't play as competitively anymore and they are just too expensive
