Brain Injury, it flares up in every match I play and hinders me greatly.

Thanks to another member of this forum, I'm currently suffering from a bruised ego.

I have no idea how any players can play on after an injury in a match.

Someone told me they shoot you up with stuff and you can prolong any pain for two hours? And with enough tape you can play the match.
I've broken my left ankle 3 times

Playing volleyball not tennis though..

However, I had to stop playing tennis a couple of years ago because I can't risk another ankle-roll. In fact I don't do sport at all anymore as another break would destroy it

The knock-on effect is I now have really bad knees too

Don't go back too soon.

My second and third breaks were a direct result of my first

Be careful

Agree with the above post, be careful out there. I took the risk and went back onto court 9-10 weeks after rolling both my ankles last year. Of course I couldn't run properly and balance was way off even with tightly strapped ankles + my ASO ankle braces on. Realised i needed more time off (I coincidentally had my exams at the same time so it was good timing), which i had another 1 and a half months out before stepping back on court.

Rotator cuff here too. Not from playing tennis but from bad form, lifting weight in the gym.

How bad is yours? My old partner injured his rotator cuff and rhomboid muscle and its hard for him to even pick up a racquet right now.

Re: What has been your worst injury?

New Year this year, I played tennis and coming in for a dropshot, I banged my arm (area between wrist and elbow joint) of the post full force It seemed alright for the time being and I continued playing for about 10 minutes more I went home and it started hurting so much I couldn't even lift the lightest if things like clothing I couldn't do anything with that arm for 2 days It still hurt a lot but I could lift clothing about 2 days later, teacup with tea 4 days later and bowl of soup a week later. It seemed completely healed at the start of February but I noticed that sometimes my arm would like stop working and drop anything it was holding - I simply had no feeling I thought pain was over but at the end of February when I was doing some boxing that my arm still hurt quite a lot when my hand was pushed back. It didn't hurt before but now I feel that whenever I play a stronger forehand it can still hurt (And this is almost 4 months later) I still have no clue what's wrong with it, there's no bruising and even if I press down on it, I can feel some numb pain but it doesn't seem to hurt a lot unless i'm actually doing sport. Does someone know what it could be? Those random "arm stops working and drops everything" moments still happen

Bring back Maria Sharapova!

I thought that was only against poster Mr Serena Williams

My worst injury would have to be rolling my ankle multiple times. Undescribable pain

Re: What has been your worst injury?

Something called osteochondritis dissecans. Severe knee pain every day, my knee regularly locked when I tried to play and would constantly click when I tried to walk. I had that when I was 13 years-old. I took vegetarian glucosamine tablets to help deal with it, and couldn't play ANY sport for 15 months.

Nowadays, a few years down the track, it's fully healed, but I still have a loose lump of bone in my knee from running, falling and slamming my knee into a concrete gutter when I was about 10. That was probably what kick started everything in the first place.

And nowadays I get very regular back issues. I'm just a walking injury.

Re: What has been your worst injury?

tennis related? if so just some bruises as I fell on astro turf

but I often have to deal with knee and back pain as a result of my skiing career and these days I can barely walk after a few games

may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.

Re: What has been your worst injury?

Caused by Tennis it was massive blisters on my feet. With better socks and taping for a bit I can play fine without risking blisters any more.

Not caused by Tennis was Cellulitis, it kept me off court for almost 2 months.
