I have both the Yonex VCore 100s and 2012 Babolat Pure Drive Lite. The main difference is that the Babolat is more powerful. A pro for both is that they have excellent control from the baseline. A con for both is that they can be a little unstable. I play two-handed on both sides so it doesn't bother me much.
Hi Aravanecaravan how the 2012 Pure Drive is it really great with Power and Control ?, I thinking about getting the 2012 Pure Drive Lite do too my shoulder.
So far, I'm finding a pretty good balance of control and power. No problem generating whatever spin I want, though I tend to be a flat hitter. mjslmaverick mentioned a lack of stability in the Lite, but I haven't found that to be a problem in the standard. I play with a one handed backhand and can turn the racquet over with plenty of balance and power without any lack of stability. It has a low swingweight and feels lighter than the previous Pure Drive, so it might feel a touch whippy in comparison to that for some players, but a little lead would take care of that, I imagine.
Of course, strings are going to make a huge difference. I mentioned that I have mine strung with Big Banger ALU Power on mains whereas I demoed it with a cheap poly and it plays entirely different. So you have to take your strings into account, too.
