Re: Your tennis results?!

Today I played after month and half with acquaintance and won 6:2, 5:7, 6:3. I was playing average but luckily we both have similar level of play.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Long ago I played the last match. Was projected to play my first match in my new tennis club here near Olten SUI (where I live). But then God had sth against and it rained. Now my next sport will be today (swimming and gym and maybe tennis today). Then in the evening flight to Warsaw one-way with easyjet for my first Polish Open 1000 pts for worldranking (www.isbo-speedbadminton.com). I am only a professional speed badminton player so far but wanna become a pro player in tennis too soon...
Would have played a former R3 player (my best ranking so far was R6). Now I am R8.
The rankings in SUI range from R9 (lowest) to R1 (highest regional ranking)
Then come the following: N4, N3, N2 and N1 (Fed for example is N1 (1) )
I am 31 now but still BELIEVE in a pro career because I am much much better than my actual ranking...
And I am in constant contact with many professional tennis players from WTA. The girls help me voluntarly with their experience. I play since 2000 and... I am fresh in my mind and not like Federer, my compatriot, like an empty battery...
You will hear from me!!!

Re: Your tennis results?!

Had practice yesterday, was really hitting my forehand well. Backhand was a bit off and my serve was terrible No rhythm at all.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Don't you guys notice that when forehand works, backhand doesn't, and the other way around? Or it's just me
The same for serve: it either works, and groundstrokes suck, or vice versa

I think mine is more mental, but I have to bomb down my first serve or my groundstrokes go off. My backhand usually works anyway, but if I don't hit my first serve as hard as I can my forehand goes abit wonky and I to make it really "topspinny" just to make it consistent.

My friend who I mainly play with (since no one else will play with me ) always hits return winners off of my first serve when I try to serve hard! He absorbs pace so well. So if I feel competitive and want to win I just spin my first serve in and he usually bunts or slices it back. Although, I think he does it because he will hit return winners almost every one of my serve and he wants to play more since I'm so bad

My backhand is usually never working, but I agree. If my forehand is good, my backhand is worse than ever.

I've only ever had one match where both forehand and backhand worked well the entire time. I still lost but it was okay in the end

Re: Your tennis results?!

I'm a baseliner with a one-handed backhand. Mediocre serve, but I like to play from the back and construct points. I prefer to play on clay courts. My local park has some very good ones.

Yesterday beat my cousin 46 61 75. First few games were really shit then the set got more better. The second set my tactic was to do some control hitting and it worked as he was spraying everything out. Then I was down 1-4 in the third set until I started to play more smartly.

Re: Your tennis results?!

I don't think I've ever had as many injuries at once in my life.
I sprained my little finger and ring finger on my left hand last week, I got my index finger on my right hand caught in a car door yesterday and my shoulder is killing me. I still have to play a tennis match tomorrow. I'm expecting bagels. I can't grip my racket properly with my hands at all.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Played singles and doubles in freezing conditions and in thick as fog on Saturday, i won my doubles 6-1 6-7(5) 10-7 (could've won it 6-1 6-3 if i hadn't hit so many errors), but lost my singles 6-1 6-1. my shots kept clipping the top of the net (especially my volleys) and they just would not go over (except once)

Re: Your tennis results?!

Just played my first match on clay this year today (more than 1 year I played last time on clay). I thought it would be disaster (because I played just on hardcourts lately) but turned out as one of my best matches ever. Played against friend I almost never won but this time I did. It was 6-2, 3-6 and 6-3 for me. Best part of match were for sure last 5 games. I was down 1-3 in final set but then started to hitting so good with forehand and even with backhand. Really happy to play on such a great level. Serving, volleying, forehand, dropshots were amazing and also my backhand is really improving lately. Can't wait to play again.

Re: Your tennis results?!

If you're interested in keeping track of your game- and match results, I've recently released a free Android app for tracking game and match results for all kinds of racket sports, including tennis. In addition to tracking the results it also automatically generates statistics like win/loss ratios against different opponents and more. You can read more about the app Killermatch on http://killermatch.com/.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Had an epic match in a tournament yesterday... It took us 2 hours for a 3-6 4-6 and it we played indoors

Was down 0-5 very quick because I couldn't get used to the indoor court because I only played on outdoor clay during the last months. Anyway, got 3 games in a row then but still lost the set after a close game which went to deuce multiple times. The 2nd set started off pretty well and I had a 4-2 lead, then lost 4 games in a row again.

Somehow I feel ok with the match but on the other side it's just disgusting how I just push everything back in matches and can't do my goat-shots from practise sessions

Same

I pull off amazing shots that my coach basically says "good fucking LORD that was great" and whenever I play for real I lose 1-6 3-6 every single match and that's a good day
