Re: Your tennis results?!

Furious with my local tennis management team. I have to play qualifying in an event in three weeks time when the new season starts. Reason being I didn't enter the event last year and only people who gained points last year get a direct entry. Have been confirmed as the 1st seed though, so I am expected to get through. I was allowed direct entry into the qualies though because I obtained the 6 or more QF onwards rule that our management team desires.

Re: Your tennis results?!

Had practice match with cousin. Previous two times he beat me first 6-2 6-2 and then 6-3 7-6 the next time.

Today I won 6-2 2-6 (7-5). It was a good match honestly. First set from me was like 'yep, this is how I can and should play all the time'. Return winners, only 1 DF in the set (and it was a very close call), and superb concentration on the deuce games (there were many, and I won basically all of them. I also snatched one of his service games after he was up 40-0). Some of our rallies were really long and good with big shots .

Second set I wasn't that bad either, but I did drop my level a bit. Then the TB I was up 3-0, then lost the next 4 points I think and hit a bad DF. Then I ended up with the win in the end so yay .

If I bring this form to the club matches on Saturday it could be a good day .

Re: Your tennis results?!

7-9 loss in doubles, but 7-6 (1) 6-1 win in singles .

Doubles was whatever. My partner girl couldn't get a return over the net. After a while I didn't even care - I could only marvel how many easy returns one can hit in the net . Then again, my serve was crap today (doubles and singles) so I'm not totally blameless either.

One of the opponents really annoyed me, starting in doubles. She took fucking forever to go fetch a ball. I feel like I could've walked to the clubhouse for a cup of coffee, come back and she still would've been dawdling over to the ball. It was especially annoying when I was serving of course.

In interclub you play one of the doubles opponents each in singles, and I got the slowpoke of course. Then in singles things got even worse. She made so many dodgy calls, but I don't even know if she was doing it on purpose. She just had no clue how the game goes. She got to 6-5 and thought the set was over , we had a small argument about it and she had to go ask someone , and most weirdly she stood at the service line to receive first and second serves, and didn't move back at all even when she discovered I have a bit of pace on my serve and was getting aced time and again...

On set point first set I hit another ace (not a great accomplishment today) and she said it was out. I was like "no, that was not out I'm sorry", rather frustrated. It was just an unpleasant day all-around.

The first set was so close (I was down 2-5 I think) because I had trouble adjusting to the weirdness of her game. The only thing I can take from this win (although it is nice to win finally) is that I used my brain today and made necessary adjustments.

My favourite moment was on a BP at some stage (can't remember when) I smacked a FH return winner out of frustration and it felt great .

Re: Your tennis results?!

I'm playing my first tournament in like 10 years and I'm in the semifinals. Rain forced us to suspend the SF match last night when I was leading 4-3 in the third set. The guy hits the crap out of the ball, but is really slow so I was trying to move him around the court. Hope I win today

Re: Your tennis results?!

I got to the final and lost 6-2 6-3. The guy played this wicked slices and it was extremely difficult to keep the ball in play for too long. Next tournament in April, guess I'm gonna have to win it.

Re: Your tennis results?!

1-6 1-6 loss in singles.
5-7 6-3 [3-10] loss in doubles.

So angry and frustrated with my level of play this weekend. Nothing was working.

Apart from that how's the results?

I admit against many players I probably would've lost again Saturday. I served great in my Thursday practice match and didn't practice my serve Friday and it was consequently shit .
