Danube PYW Team Championships 2012 | Winners: Ivanovic/Dolonts (SRB)

WELCOME!

Danube team championships will host 10 teams, each from one country of the Danube river system, namely Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. Each team will consist of the country's top singles and top doubles player. Their combined ranking will determine their place in the draw. So let's get started! In the first round, due to the competition having 10 teams we'll have only 2 encounters, while the other 6 teams will get a bye into the quarterfinals. From there, we'll play the classic elimination system. Have fun!

Re: Danube PYW Team Championships 2012

No player v player voting? It's a bit dull otherwise...

Pironkova
Savchuk
Ukraine

Paszek
Klemenschits
Austria

but somehow I can't help from hoping
to find someone to talk to
who likes the way I am
who when he sees me wants to again

Not sure how that would work with 2 players from each team. What if P1 from team A beats P2 from team B, and P1 from team B beats team A - which team goes through?

I'm open for suggestions though, we can change the format before starting QF.

Fed Cup format - one doubles match, and 4 (or 2) singles matches. See Jose's Countries Championships threads.

Re: Danube PYW Team Championships 2012

Not a bad idea H, assuming there is some interest in the game. If not, it could go on for quite some time (7 ties i.e. 4+2+1, 3 matches per tie = 21 match in total).

Re: Danube PYW Team Championships 2012

Judging by the interest in this one, we might end up closing the thread in the following days. Clearly it wasn't one of the best ideas I ever got

P. S. You can also vote by stating players names if you want, so for example Svitolina/Savchuk, Paszek/Klemenschits etc.
