Red face Sharemarket suspended because of possible scandal

Accussations from independant sources today revealed that "Insider Trading" has taken place within the last 12 hours of the sharemarket game.

"Trading has been temporarily suspended because of these Accusations"..Said Adrian the General Manager of Sharemarket Inc.

On a serious note, both Colin and I are looking into a matter where we do believe a player knowingly invested in shares that he knew results of prior to the board Knowing. The, at this time innocent party, has been informed of the investigation. As most of you know, someone found guilty of this is fined $100.00, as what happened last year, the person's identity is NOT released. Until the matter is resolved, all tradind is suspended.

2002 will be going ahead no matter what.

The bottom line is this:

A bunch of different shares were bought 28 minutes before the results were posted on this board. 2 of them were massive upsets and 2 were natural losses. The person stood to gain somewhere around $90 odd cash, plus a share increase of the same amount. It was enough for us to look into. We feel the person may have known the results beforehand. It is extremely hard for me to run this challenger series and It will not be run next year, too many variables, too many tournaments at once, too many unknown sources to get results.

General Manager?

Well, I really hope it wasn't intentional. Last year I myself bought some Grande shares when she had already been defeated but I didn't know it. For lower Tier events sometimes it's not easy to keep track of everything, especially with different time zones.

Doc!, I think what you done may be called Mirror trading, no matter what way you looked at it you lost

I had no problems with 2001, the challenger series has been very difficult to keep track off, as I said, it will not be run again after this series is over, Just stick to the GS-tier 5 season.

I thought it would be easy, as challengers were included in 2001, but only one or two invested in them when there were so many other lucrative tournaments going. But with 13 investing from different hemphispheres and up to 7 tournaments running at once, it has been difficult.

But saying all that, I smell a rat

I know it wasn't me, but I still say we should let it go. Isn't it what happening on the stock market in general? if you're close to information you'll earn all the money...
it's not like this person bribed a tournament director not to release results until he/she buys shares.... then I would have said we have to investigate.

The matter has been resolved to the pleasing of Adrian and Colin and the 3rd party.

The Management reminds Tenn_Ace, that rules for investigation were well in place before his tenure. They are not open to debate, nor abuse, departure from the game is the only solution for someone who is not willing to abide to this. Trust me, I ain't fucking joking. For me to go public with this, meant I was at least 90% sure the person was guilty.

I can also say now that I was 90% wrong.

Which go to show the rules are working
