1st Round: Canigetawhat/AlexSydney def. Paul/David 6-3, 6-2
Semifinals: Alx/Jacs def. Canigetawhat/AlexSydney 6-1, 7-6(1)
Alex and I are very happy with our win today but it was a shame we couldn't continue our good luck into our semifinal match against the No. 2 seed. I think we were also fortunate to win our first match because Paul and David had some communication problems. They were always off their game and somewhat out of rhythm. This is my second consecutive win over Paul, I'm pleased to have strung a winning streak against a good player.
In the semis, this particular match versus Alx was my closest match in quite some time. Against a top ranked player as Alx, it was much improvement. But I'm also disappointing because Alex and I were always leading in the second set, even in the tie-break. You win some, you lose some. It was a good match, overall, they overwhelmed us in the first set, then we fought valiently to stretch them to a tie-break. I look at it as a win because I'm more confident against the top tier players now. Alex and I were very close to upsetting them, but Alx and Jacs were more experience and played very wisely in the tie-break.
Hopefully Alex and I can continue this good partnership. Our games are so compatible and complements eachother so well.
