Big Brother: Rules and How to Play...
The game will be played like the US version. I didn't realize how differently the game is played in different countries, so this may be new to some of you.
Head of Household (HOH) Competitions
Head of Household competitions are held after every eviction. The winner of this competition receives the HOH status until the next competition. The responsibility of HOH includes nominating 2 housemates for eviction. If a housemate is removed from the block through a veto, the HOH is also required to replace that housemate with another. A housemate may not be HOH in consecutive weeks, therefore is ineligible to participate in following HOH competition.
During this ceremony, the HOH takes all of the housemates keys and places all but 2 in the key box. The HOH will present the key box to the housemates, pull out the first key, and announce the first person who is safe. The HOH will then hand that person his or her key and that person will pull out the next key…etc. The two housemates that are left without their key are the two players whom the HOH has nominated for eviction.
Veto competitions are played after the HOH announces his/her nominees. Unlike HOH competitions, this competition is only contested by 6 players…the HOH, the two nominees, and each of the three choosing one more housemate of their choice. However, this holds true only until 9 players remain, when all housemates will have the opportunity to play. The winner of the veto competition receives the “golden power of veto” which gives that player the choice to remove one of the two players on the block or not use it to save either.
During this ceremony, the housemate that has won the veto competition will announce whether or not they choose to use the golden power of veto to take one of the two housemates off the block. If the veto winner opts to use it, the HOH will then immediately replace that housemate with another, but may not put up the winner of the veto.
The HOH and the two nominees are not eligible to vote, so the decision lies in the other housemates. In the event of a tie, the HOH will have the final say.
Every five days, the housemates will vote off one of the two nominees, and the housemate with the most votes will be evicted from the house. They may say their final good-byes, but once they exit the door, they may no longer return.
