Good luck Anna! She faces an in-form Bammer. Bammer just won a 25K in Cardiff.

Anna won 6-3, 6-4 .
In the next round she play Vera, who beat Marion Bartoli. Anna has defended her points from last year where in the quarters she lost to hantuchova.

Anna has already beaten Vera this year, coming back in excellent form.
Go Anna!

I saw the third set of this match on a (sometimes fuzzy) webcast. Man, what a match. At first, it looked like Anna was going to pull another comeback on Vera just like in New Haven. But Vera fought off three match points (at 5-2, 5-3 and 5-4) and ended up winning it at 7-5. There were some awesome rallies between the two. Literally a couple of 20 shot points.

Anna cramped up badly at 5-2 in the 3rd set and had to take a break. She looked like she was in pain the entire rest of the way. Too bad for her.

But a really, really entertaining match nonetheless.
