Re: Who will last longer 2013

One of the reasons that I am no longer playing this game is that is has become a race to the bottom, and it is too depressing to track the futility of the Israeli tennis contingent.

Re: Who will last longer 2013

I expected this to happen and that was exactly what I was talking about.
Had I knew the OOP beforehand I'd have picked Tour just because of that, but it should not be a factor and it is ridiculous to say she "lasted longer" in this tourney just because she was the last to be wiped off step on court today.

Other than a short run by Glushko in the US hardcourt season, it has been like that from the get-go.
In fact, not only for me this game, defeatist as it may be (and I already said that months ago), is almost the only reason to pay a visit to the Israeli sub-forum nowadays, but I believe that was the idea of its creator - something to maintain regular interest and prevent this place from emptying.

Re: Who will last longer 2013

I would love to have a tight race to the finals but I don't determine the scores...
So I try to make the best of what is available.
I agree it's not ideal

Order of play shouldn't be the deciding factor as it can be now.
I think if the game would be "who will go deeper" then there would be no point in following the scores day by day.
It would be enough to look up the results after the tournaments are over and see who reached what level and then use some predetermined algorithm to know who won.
The fact that the OOP for every day is not known in advance and it can affect the score, adds a "wild card" to the game that makes it more followable in my view.

You can say that about any game on TF or any sports competition for that matter.
One could do that (look up the results after the tournaments are over etc.) nowadays too as there are ways to check OOP or match reports.

Of course your daily updates do a lot for keeping us tuned in throughout the week, but they would achieve that also if the game was "who will go deeper".

Re: Who will last longer 2013

Glushko

I wonder if someone will go deeper than R2 this time in either singles or doubles, and how many players will get even there...

Julia is currently playing her second (QF) doubles match while Shahar hasn't played her R1 doubles, due to scheduling reasons and Thai weather.
If Julia wins more matches than Shahar this week but the latter is declared "winner" thanks to entering the tournament much later, I am out of this game for good.
