Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

How did Shahar play anyways? Did she push or tried being agressive?

I didn't watch but she won 6-4, 2-0 RET...

And here you are, a black unicorn.
Mythical and mystical since the day that you were born.

Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

It is a huge break (she's got no chance vs Errani on clay given their respective forms), and she should - it's been 12 tournaments since February (Doha, which wasn't that good either) - but she already lost recently to Johansson on clay, so no expectations.
I also think she will beat Craybas it she gets her in R2.

Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

Pff I don't get it though... Why do you go to play on clay just before the olympics on grass? Stanford quick hardcourts would've been a better prep.

Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

Last week she had to be in Israel to participate in an Olympics related gathering,
this week she's paying in Sweeden,
next week the Olympics.
Makes sense to me.
probably wanted to be in the neighborhood and not have to travel back and forth.

Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

Oh dear
But she'd be the underdog against most of the draw, and I guess after getting the worst player available in AO, Doha, Dubai and close to it at RG, and on top of that non top-100 opponents at both IW and Miami, we can't really complain about one bad draw.

Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

Nope and I think it's a great chance for her to pull the trigger.
She's fired up and motivated to succeed in the olympics so I hope she will repeat Miami at least or even more

Shahar throughout her career was a hardworking athlete.
Most of her achievements in the past came while digging deep in the ground with terrific comebacks from set down.
Her Tennis skills was never firs class, but she was always able to hang on.

Since last year, it doesn't really matter who her opponent is. She will loose second round, or with luck and retirements in the 3rd.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see her performing a second comeback, as she did 2-3 years ago.

Re: Shahar Cheering Thread 2012

I actually do see her doing that. I took a look at how Shahar played in 2006&7&10 and it's just how she should play.
What I liked about the interview she made to Sport 5 is that she said she's going to try and shorten the points and be more assertive if she intends to beat her.
Hope she knows what she's talking about
