Decent Interview, as usual with some noticeable mistakes: Schiavone wasn't even 30 when she won RG, and the part about Capriati and Hingis flaming out early and not being able to make a successful comeback was just
The last (solo) pic is nice, although overall the pictorial in "Laisha" (I think - the one in which she wore green) a few years ago was better.
We should make one big interviews thread, this shouldn't be in this off-topic chat thread.
Not much new.
Perhaps this paragraph:
"I've set up a goal to take part in three Olympics: Beijing 2008, London next summer and Rio 2016. I'll be 29 then which looks like a right age to call it quits. It's different than what I thought about growing up. I've always pictured myself getting married at 25 and having kids at 27."
Says the usual stuff about her coaches, and (not in those exact words) that Bartoli is her best friend on tour and she's also on good terms with Wozniacki, Radwanska and Pennetta, but certainly not with (surprise!) Sharapova.
Also says Schiavone (whose RG win comes up more than once) and Kim are really nice.
Well to be honest her serve looked better then usual in Ra'anana but her groundstrokes were pretty awful in the final (every second shot found the net). I believe she can and will play better in 2012, but is it enough to beat the world's top players? I'm not sure.
The Israeli tennis forum on Tapuz has a discussion about an interview on Sport5 (יציע העיתונות) from last month.
I stopped watching that crap show long ago, it has nothing do with journalism whatsoever, but transcript and feedback look interesting: http://www.tapuz.co.il/forums2008/Vi...geId=164250085
Unsurprisingly, Shahar gave good and honest answers to ignorant and stupid questions.
I can't find a link to the interview itself.
