Re: Julia Glushko

Julia played quite badly in the final, but it I guess it was just OK considering she was ill earlier this week.

Re: Julia Glushko

A real shame. Should've won the first set and then the whole match.

Re: Julia Glushko

There is definitely an ominous trend in Julia's play this year. Today, she struggled past a young 16 year old ranked outside the top 1000, in a long 3 set match in round one of the qualifiers in Rio.

Glushko d Stefani 6-7 6-4 6-1.

She lost all her singles matches in Fed Cup and has done nothing else this year of note. I believe that she has only won one qualifying match all year before today.

Re: Julia Glushko

Unfortunately, there are many talented kids here, but most of them don't have the money to actually be tennis players. And the country does nothing to help If they do get money, it's after accomplishing something outside Israel. Funny that, cos to do it you need the money
Anyway, Julia is trying, but she can't really do everything by her own. And her tennis is not the same as world tennis

She's training in Athens this week and she will take part in an exhibition on Tuesday night

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

JulIa played against a Greek male player named Paris Gemouchidis. Not sure the result of the match but I am sure she lost, as the opponent was a professional male.

Re: Julia Glushko

I don't know the surface, but Gemouchidis is actually retired. He was once a finalist at the Orange Bowl, played the junior slams (career high #23), was on the Greek Davis Cup team, and has an ATP tour career high of #582 in singles and #384 in doubles, so yeah, I doubt Julia won
