Let's see if she can string a couple of such wins together, or at least in consecutive weeks.
was the match televised? was there a video stream?

Re: Julia Glushko

I don't know, I was at work.
In the tournament's thread it was said there was a stream but it only worked part-time or something. Maybe I misunderstood.
Anyway it seemed most of the TF active Israelis were watching (at least the live scoring if there wasn't a live stream).

There was a live radio broadcast, but no live picture feed.

Re: Julia Glushko

I know it's not considered as the most important part but Glushko reached her highest ranking ever in doubles this week - 389 - after a successful couple of weeks, winning a 10k and reaching the semi finals of a 50k. congrats

Re: Julia Glushko

an article about glushko in hebrew called "Glushko's career is in danger" was published a couple of days ago.
don't have the patience to translate it all but basically it talks about how much she is in need of a sponsor
and how difficult all the travel can be. Also she talks about moving to the city of Modiin and training where her father works as a coach.

Re: Julia Glushko

All out for Julia Glushko again at an Israeli 10k this year -
She won both singles and doubles titles in 10k Akko this week

(1)Julia Glushko (ISR) d. (6/Q)Julia Kimmelmann (GER) 62 62

A good but expected result. Something magical needs to happen for her to get to the next level

Judging from how well she does when she plays in Israel, I think it could benefit her if there was a 25k in Israel.

Re: Julia Glushko

She was the top seed (and played doubles with the #2 seed - they lost 13 games in 4 matches). I don't know that she plays that much better in Israel than abroad.
Regardless, more tournaments from all levels (25, 50, 75, 100, I'm not even thinking further anymore) would benefit every local player...

Re: Julia Glushko

I read in an israeli sports news site, that this tournament is part of a series of 5 tournaments she is planning to play in Australia/New-Zealand in an attempt to boost her rankings and qualify for the Australian open.

Meanwhile she has already reached the QFs after her win against Brodsky
Julia Glushko (ISR) d. Gail Brodsky (USA) 62 46 63

Next she will play Melanie South (GBR) who is the 6th seed and ranked 200+
