arguably the most intresting 1rd math-up in the whole tourny (justine VS conchita the only one to really have a say).
both are extremelly fast, anna has much more topspin, jelena can hit from anywhere to anywhere.
anna has better net game, jelena has a better serve.
anna IMO is fitter in the latter stages. jelena has lost numberous times in the very end, and with anna pushing all of her matches to be so long, it might be a way to neutralize the power of jelena's game.
anna is better on the surface, she slices nicely and pushes the ball deep enough, but jankovic is a content baseliner herself and will wait patiantly.
wear her out, i say.
by the third set, if anna can keep up - she has what it takes to move on.

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.

Very tough draw all around for Anna. Best of luck though, she can do it.

anna-lena is the type of player that is up to smashnova's game and could really trouble her.
if Smashnova won't maintain her concentration and hit deep, groenfeld will eventually find her rythem and start racking up winners, especialy the cross court ones.
as for shahar - IMO, she stands no chance.
kveta beat dally so easliy and she's returned to the tour with blostring form.
shahar surprised me this season already, let's see if she can stun me again.

btw, anna began her yearly doubles attempt, this time teaming up with another clay court specialist and veteran with a late career boost - dally randrianteffy of madagascar.
the two are facing the italian couple garbin/camerin and leadin 3-1 deuce on the italian girls serve.
good luck to all four i suppose, as none of them are a real threat in singles or doubles.

lost in a simuler scoreline to that of last week with vaidisova...wierd.
NM, focus back on singles and the clash with anna-lena.
