Re: Legia courts before the tournament
Players in "normal" locker rooms but journalists and press conferences again in containers. That's how the tournament Polsat Warsaw Open will look like. Despite promises the authorities didn't manage to finish all modernization works.
They were to be finished last year but we still don't know when everything will be done. - There's a lot of work to do but we will make it in time - say organizers.
Previous week the baloon was taken out and the renovation of the surface started. Modernization is still in progress. We finish making new pavements and finish making locker rooms - Locker rooms for the players will be ready in time - assures Stefan Makarczyk, the tournament director. - But the press centre and the place for journalists will be still in containers.
Locker rooms, players longue and other infrastructure will be under one of the stands of the centre court (approx. 7000 seats). They should but the workers still don't know where they will be placed.
- You can see, we're not bored here - tells one of them
Last year, Makarczyk told he wouldn't organize the tournament if full infrastructure is not prepared, now he's not that strict.
- It's all because of strong winter this year. We couldn't continue the renovations, that's why there are the delays. We cannot fight with the weather.
