Wildcards for Madrid Mandatory Predictions/Info

This tournament, being mandatory, receives the benefit of five wildcards, to be given to any players. Last year all five went to Spaniards, and unless some comeback player (maybe Molik?) gets one, then I imagine all five will be Spanish again.

1. Ana Ivanovic (The Fistpump is confirmed).
2. Shuai Peng (Through a poll).
3. Arantxa Parra Santonja (Confirmed now).
4. Virginia Ruano Pascual (Final singles tournament for her).
5. Sybille Bammer (WTF?!).

My number one: Victoria Azarenka

ATP: Novak Djoković

Crazy Frenchies! Gilles Simon Alizé Cornet

Re: Wildcards for Madrid Mandatory Predictions/Info

Ana Ivanovic has her own house in Spain (villa in Majorca)... so she have chance to reach this WC even by iSzávay criteria

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

Re: Wildcards for Madrid Mandatory Predictions/Info

Halep will get one for MD or Q because the tournament director, Ion Tiriac is a former player and he is Romanian and he gave one of the Bogdans a QWC last year and Halep said in a recent interview that her next tournaments are Marbella, Barcelona, and Madrid

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Re: Wildcards for Madrid Mandatory Predictions/Info

I hope Ana decides to play quali That could give her some match practice and improve her perfomance in the MD a bit - in case she qualifies

Victoria Azarenka

Re: Wildcards for Madrid Mandatory Predictions/Info

It could, but I prefer not take the risk ! She is a former n°1 and a Gran Slam winner, I don't want her to play quali !

Re: Wildcards for Madrid Mandatory Predictions/Info

Shocking news - thanks to scandalous protection of Event President, Director and even mayor of Madrid, first WC not goes to Arantxa Parra Santonja or Nuria Llagostera Vives, but to:

Ana Ivanovic made the 2010 edition with Tiriac, Santana and Ruiz-Gallardon

MADRID, 12 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

In addition, Serbian Ana Ivanovic, who did a show with Manolo Santana, displayed his usual friendliness and greeted in Spanish, apologizing for having to give the rest of his speech in English.
"I am delighted to be back in Madrid. I'm sure it will be a great tournament with great innovation. Two years ago I saw and loved the facilities, last year I could not play, and I'm looking to jump to the track" said the first player to receive a wild card of the organization.
