Anyone else planning on going to Key Biscayne this year?
I've got six days of day/night tickets from Tuesday March 23 (2nd day of quals AND 1st day of MD) through Sunday March 28, the end of round three. Weather permitting, of course, lol.
I'll be sharing photos and videos again and logging in with daily reports from my hotel so it'll be a busy week.
Go if you can--this tournament is a real blast. The players are pretty accessible for photos/autographs and to watch in practice. Most early round matches are on outside courts for great viewing, and generally speaking all of the top seeds and popular players play at least once or twice on the outside courts, so no matter what kind of ticket you have, you can see great tennis.
If you go, bring sunscreen for the day AND a jacket for the night matches!
I'm going to the night match on Tues 3/30 and trying to figure something out.
If Federer is playing 3/27 for his opening match, what other dates would he be playing? As in, is it consecutive days or are there rest days?
I only used Federer as the example because the website says he will open up then
You have a good chance of seeing Fed. Federer will be playing his first match, a 2nd rounder, on Saturday the 27th. Sunday the 28th and Monday the 29th are men's third round, weather permitting, which means Fed will play again the 29th. THe men's 4th round is scheduled for Tuesday the 30th with the QF on Wednesday the 31st, so he should play again on the 30th. Whether it is a night match or not, I don't know, but I imagine there's at least a chance of it. Alot will depend on who is still in the tournament and who hasn't yet played a night match. But no question, they love to put on Roger and Rafa at night.
