MD WC for Dellacqua

Casey Dellacqua handed a wildcard for Sydney International

December 31, 2009 Casey Dellacqua will continue on the comeback trail from injury at next month's Sydney International after receiving a wildcard on Thursday.
The West Australian joins former world No.1 Justine Henin as the second women's wildcard recipient for the January 10-16, with two more still to be awarded.

She will be up against a red hot field with all of the world's top ten, with the exception of Venus Williams, competing in Sydney in the lead up to the Australian Open.

Re: MD WC for Dellacqua

Yeah not to many options for the Syd WC's as usual. Its surprising that Rodionova still has never gotten a WC anywhere, given Groth has before. I think she'd be a good option, but I guess they would rather throw in a junior to get thrashed.

Who is left for the other 2? Groth? Rodionova? Adamczak? Ferguson? None of the juniors would be competitive enough, I guess they are waiting for the qualifying results tmw to decide the others

Yeah surely you would think it would be out of Groth and Rodionova for a main draw berth here.....unless one of the young girls does something special in Brisbane!!
