Re: Sabine's 2015 American Summer

The question for me is will she stick with Kaas?...I am guessing yes as he seems to just allow her to continue with the brainless ball bashing and make the most of what she has...I guess I am kidding myself hoping for some more intelligence to be brought into her match strategy...ie play the opponent rather than trying to smash the hell out of every shot

Re: Sabine's 2015 American Summer

I hope she keeps working with Kaas for a while, otherwise she'll never go anywhere. She needs a coach to be constructive, to have some solid bases, and it started to work pretty fine this spring (just recall the panic of the first months of the year and you can see a huge difference already).

I don't know if Sabine can become a different player than what she already is (means, a very inconsistent one despite some impressive peaks), she may never become consistent enough, but still if she keeps making an effort with Kaas in the right direction, it can only bring good results in the end. Progressively, but surely.

What do I mean by "right direction"? To me, from what I could understand from Kaas and Bine's exchanges on the on-court coaching, it's not about being more consistent only, but also about optimizing Sabine's offensive game in a more rational way, without being erratic. I know it's not easy for Sabine to not be erratic since she's emotional, but it's a process. She's also able to stay focused. A coach can teach you to control your emotions, and to focuse on the right things of the game to not lose control of it.

Watched Sabine practice via a stream, which just completed a few minutes ago. Wasn't very good. Hopefully, she'll improve in subsequent practices ere the tourney begins.

Well, that's a shame actually. She had almost a month to recover physically and mentally and prepare properly to US Open Series. Hope it's just a precausion, cause she has to play good this August. A lot of important points to defend.

1st round against a Qualifier, should win that, Pliskova then, suits her also, hope Sabine can reach the QF here at least, good luck!

Re: Sabine's 2015 American Summer

Not a bad draw, she has no points to defend here either so could do with at least a win or two before the R3's she has to defend at Toronto/Cinci/USO

Sabine Lisicki - Fastest serve in history and most aces in a match in history

Re: Sabine's 2015 American Summer

After her Wimbledon performance and a 4 week break she will most def struggle to win against the qualifier...

Traveling up and down the Rankings with
Sabine Lisicki

2016 Race: Azarenka(F), Bencic, Zheng(1R),Allertova(1R), Azarenka, Stephens, Strycova, Bouchard(1R), Bertens(1R), CSN, S.Williams (GSF), Halep, Puig

Re: Sabine's 2015 American Summer

Really good draw as an unseeded player. She had so much luck. She could play Wozniacki or Kerber or Radwanska or Petkovic as well Thank God she had a good hand on her draw

Qualifier first, definitely should beat one of them. Most dangerous are Doi, Osaka and Gibbs. But of course, all are well beatable. Next Pliskova, one of the best seeds she could draw to be nearby. She likes to play against her and the Czech's style of play brings the best of Bine. So QF is possible, which would be great. Good luck

So you wanted her to draw any of the players I mentioned? All of them, besides qualifiers, have a long tennis break so everybody are in similar position.

No match will be easy, but she has some serious chances here. I mean, all the way!
