Re: 2012 Summer Olympics - London Calling!

Championships also get huge volume of Juniors' game in the second week which is the same draw size as the Olympics, think about this, Olympics starts in the second week of a Grand Slam

And even if not all matches on tv courts are live on those 3 channels, you still might get a local web stream from your broadcaster. So if e.g. a German is playing on C2, but it's not on one of the BBC's channels, it still might be streamed on the web by ARD/ZDF..

Also, while during the Championships they have 443 matches in the 5 (senior's) main draws, for the Olympics it's only 208 matches (in 9 days, instead of 13). And, all the men's matches (minus one) are only best of 3 and not best of 5.
Proportionately, I think, you will be able to see more of the tennis at the Olympics than at the Championships.
Let's wait for the OOP. I know we will be lamenting again.

But good news for her. She will be able to attend the opening ceremony.

Re: 2012 Summer Olympics - London Calling!

i guess im just being optimistic but i think she has a good draw. Its not great but if she's playing at her best she should get by jabeur relatively easily and she is the better grass courter than shvedova. She has a win over slava on clay which is by far her best surface so he should be able to handle her on grass

and then maria in round 3..i hope she would take confidence from her last match and realize that she really has what it takes to beat her.

i still think she can snag a medal with this draw, she just cant get nervous about the occasion

What makes you think, there is no tv coverage? Court 12 is a tv court during the Championships, I don't see why it wouldn't be during the Olympics. All the Brits' matches are on even-numbered courts, those are all tv courts (at least during Wimby), so I would assume they are during the Olympics as well.

I would also prepare for my first round in the Olympics by watching videos of Sabine . . . . regardless of who I was playing (Guess that's why I will never have a shot at gold).

Someone from Jabeur's camp needs to warn her that surfing through Sabine videos on youtube can lead to major distraction and loss of sleep.

Who is responsible for the scheduling? Not the Brits I suppose with Robson/Watson not on a tv court.

Re: 2012 Summer Olympics - London Calling!

A tactic to get a chance for the brit darlings Heather/Laura. Probably they are afraid more people would support Sabine than the brit girls in London

And some weeks ago, same place, Sabine and her funny doubs partner Hsieh defeated the brits already

But what do you think? Sabine isn't playing singles tomorrow and the doubs will take place in the later afternoon (and the rain...) so she could join the opening ceremony tonight with her tennis girls, right?

Sabine why are you not at the opening ceremony? Your BFF Tamira is there ...your new BFF Angelique is there...
