Sabine in Indian Wells

Sabine's section of the draw:
BYE: (22) Sabine Lisicki
Jill Craybas v (WC) Eleni Daniilidou
Ioana Raluca Olaru v Polona Hercog
BYE: (11) Marion Bartoli

If Eleni wins, I can't root for Sabine

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Smile Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

I think it's an easy draw for Sabine. I talked with a person who is chasing Sabine's training and according to him Sabine prepared well to this tournament. She is mentally ok!

CRAYBAS-->BARTOLI-->RADWANSKA-->DEMENTIEVA-->FINAL!!

hellas719 I'm sorry but Eleni can't win Craybas I watched Eleni last year in Athens she is fine player but Craybas has more experienced for this tournament..

No matter who she plays FOREVER SABINE SABINE SABINE!!!

Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

Based on her recent results, nothing is automatic with Sabine.
So I'm keeping a low expectations but hoping for the best.
Go Sabine!

Arvidsson A. Bondarenko Chakvetadze Cirstea Görges Hlaváčková
Kerber Krajicek Larričre Lisicki Pivovarova Rus Šafářová

Why are you sorry? Eleni has done nothing lately
You went to the Athens tournament?
And don't take this the wrong way, but I disagree about Jill being more experienced for this tournament since Eleni reached the third round the last time she played, and Jill reached the fourth round last time she played, but Eleni is a former #14 and Jill never got that high . Jill is in better form right now, but she is not more experienced in Indian Wells since theye both played here many times

By the way Sabine will play Jill Craybas, who beat Daniilidou as expected

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.

Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

Craybas def. Lisicki 46 75 20 ret.
another retirement for Sabine, start was ok, got weaker then during the match, maybe she didn´t feel well, really disappointing season so far, after Charleston it will go down for her, hope at least that injury isnt too serious!
Hopefully she finds her way back soon, things aren´t looking good right now for Sabine!

Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

She will drop out of the top 50, that's for sure. Her time as German number 1 should be over after Wimbledon.

Unhappy Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

I still cant believe this to happened. Why did she retire? Is she injured?

This season is not going well for Sabine. I don't know the reason but she might be having some physiological or mental problems. Might be her injury from last year. She signed with Wilson maybe she couldn't get used to her new racquet. She didn't play for a month and I thought she will turn back amazing because she trained by amazing coaches but her first serve percentage was terrible and made lots of mistake and unforced errors. Jill Craybas can't be her rival if you compare their ability and tennis. I'm so sad that those happened to my favorite player
She loose lots of points and she'll drop out of the top 50.

Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

Too many inuries and illnesses, no consistency in her game, bad fitness, weak 1st service percentage..just too much!!
Tough situation for her now, as some said, maybe she needs a new coach now, her father was good, but now she needs some professional coaches around her, there are many things she has to improve, most important thing to improve yet is probably her fitness and her mental strength! In this shape she won´t help Germany much in the Fed Cup anyway!
Really sad, just as it looked like Germany would finally have a top player again...well, hopefully she will have better results soon but I just have the feeling that her slump isnt over yet!

That won't happen. Lisicki's performance reminds me a lot of ALG in the 2007. I have highly doubts that she will finished this year in the top 50.

Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

Out of top 50? And then she'll drop even more after Wimbledon if she keeps on playing like this

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.

Re: Sabine in Indian Wells

She needs to get into shape. Again, not saying he's fat, but you cannot tell me she's as fit as she could be to give herself the best chance to realise her potential. She must improve her fitness so she can player longer matches without faltering and just for her general movement on court.

2010, it's a disaster right now.
