Nastya has to defend 282 AO points next month. It's important that she gets match tough quickly.
All the Hopmans Cup matches are on the Tennis Channel. I'm looking forward to watching Nastya and Marat.

I hope the hockey player makes his own money.
The last guy was a boyfriend/coach. That means he's taking Nastya's money.
And Nastya has earned every dollar through hard work.

So, who is gonna coach her? If her ex is still doing so, there might be a problem.

I guess she met her new beau in Rus Cup or shortly before that cuz at the YEC, she said her boyfriend was her coach. They were still together at that time.

I wish her the best of luck in 2004. She is just a really fun player

What do you guys think she'll need thye most next year to play against the 'Waffles' and the William's sisters successfully?
In my opinion the most important is to bulk up with muscles a bit. Having a figure of a belerina does not help against the powerful strokes of the players mentioned above.

I think Nastya improved after the US Open. She's the Russian #1.
She needs to keep improving. I wouldn't change anything.
One more forward move and Nastya will be right there with the best.

Thanks for the news Russianfan. I really had no idea about that. Do you maybe know if she has another coach or Jens is still coaching her? But I hope she's happy with new b/f. If he's hockey player that's great, Nastya likes hockey
For 2004 I am very optimistic.
She improved a lot this year and she has abilities and potential. Maybe you haven't realize one thing about Anastasia. When you watch her match and really think about her game you can see that she has great anticipation. In this point I can compare her to Martina Hingis, she always knew when to be on court and so do Nastya. This is very valuable gift and will be very helpful for her, I'm sure about that. Just what she has to do is get some muscles and have stronger game and better serve, because one more thing she does great is running. She is extremely fast. So you can see what a potential she has and I really belive that if she will work on these elements I said she will be top 5

Changing boyfriends is very Hingis-like.
I'm against heavy weight training. I don't see Meghann improving.
This was Nastya's best year ever. She played her best tennis this fall.
Nastya beat JHH and Mauresmo in back to back finals. You can't do much better than that. But you can do it more and more over the next few years.
What Nastya has been doing is working. She keeps improving. She fights. She competes.
I wouldn't make any radical changes in training or mental preparation.

Me too. I love that in her. That she really cares about what she is doing and gives her heart on court. Of course this year was great and the best for her. She won with big champions. I just still think that serve was little bit a weakness. Just work on it on that and will be great.

I get to see the Hopmans Cup on tv. So I'll watch Nastya's serve closely.
She starts against Mauresmo on the 5th, so I'll know if it's improved or not.
It's important that Nastya plays well in January. She's defending a lot of points.
I want her to get to the quarters (at least) of all 4 majors in 2004.

Yeah, please say something about her game at Hopman. I;m very curious how she will be playing now. But I don't get that tournament on tv here
I also hope for that, maybe her first SF?

Getting to the semifinals in Melbourne would be a great way to start 2004.
That's the next step for Nastya.
Plus her French Open record can improve. I don't see why Nastya can't be one of the best on every surface.
