ESPN2 started their replay with Nastya up 5-0. So all I've seen is Nastya lose 7 straight games.
Nastya has to stay focused when things aren't going well.
She should know this by now.

GL, I watched ESPN2's coverage of the Myskina - Henin match. And I'm shocked Anastasia lost the first set after being up 5-0! That was a horrible way to lose the first set and it cost her the match.

The truth is if Anastasia had half of Henin's great poise and mental toughness she would have won this match.

Eggy, are you saying Henin faked her feeling weak injury timeout? She's taking antibiotics and obviously not feeling well. All the trainer did was take her blood pressure and reassure her she was okay. That put Justine's mind at ease and she played better tennis after that. Anastasia still should have won the first set and the match. And Anastasia wasn't upset about the injury timeout because she gave Justine 2 kisses and her congratualtions at the net. That proved to me that Anastasia is a good sport even after losing a very tough match.

Happiness is like a cat. If you try to coax it or call it, it will avoid you. It will never come. But if you pay no attention to it and go about your business, you'll find it rubbing up against your legs and jumping into your lap. - William Bennett

She should learn a good lesson from this match. She should have all three sets...

She needs to evaluate herself now, whether she is physically and mentally to play tonight. Otherwise, she might think about letting fresh and in-form Nadya have a shot at semis.

There's too many points too much money involved for Nastya to pass the baton to Nadya.
Nastya almost won the match in the 10th game of the third set.
She's not injured, just a loss of composure.

Nastya was 1-4* down, looking dis-interested, not moving well
then Ai began to choke, crumble, Nastya began to focus more, fight and move better

This is a huge win. Nastya was so close to beating Justine. Now she's got a chance to play a big player in a big match.
Udachi Nastya!!

Well done Nastia! And a nice comeback of her own.

Jen is beatable. If Nastia can move her around well, she can win in 2 sets. I just hope Nastia stops hitting every ball into the middle of the court.

Davai, baby!

Capriati has won all three meetings with Nastya. The last one 2 & 3 at Wimbledon.
This is an important match against a good player. And Nastya can win this.

I reckon she will min this match cuz Jenn is not healthy, and Myskina is more confident after winning last night. She will get to the semifinals which is really great for her this year. If she can do so, her ranking will be the 6th, her career high. Her hope will motivate her to win

I have read her interview after her match against Nadia. She said she wanna be better than Elena D and Nadia wanna be better than her. I think this year she achieves her goals, playing the YEC and being better than Elena D. Next year, the competition among Russians will be so tense and tough. It would be fun and interesting!

I like to read about how Nastya and the others are competitive. You need that fire inside to work and fight as hard as they do.
Nastya can still win this whole event. It all starts today versus Capriati.
Allez Nastya!

Capriati won 7-5, 5-7, 6-4. Nastya is out of the YEC.
Russian tennis has made great strides forward in 2003. But Nadia in the FO quarters was probably the biggest win ( from a worldwide perspective).
In 2004, the girls have to take another giant step forward.
But first, Fed Cup. Davai Nastya!
