At Nastya's size, I wonder how much she can still improve. There are taller, stronger Russians on the tour.
But I will never question Nastya's heart. She has an amazing amount of courage and will power.

It's totally plausible that Nastya can be #3 in the world coming out of Australia.
Are you for real?

Anyways, ys, I hope that stat is an indicator of today's result - cuz Nastya just won the first set 7-5

it would have been, but you can't win a tennis match if you can't run..

Nadya got her revenge..

Also Nastya might want to think about obvious fitness problems. How she is going to last through the next week, I have problem understanding..

Nastya lost the final in Philadelphia 5-7, 6-0, 6-2. I guess she had no energy left in the tank.
Now comes YEC and Fed Cup. So get some rest, Nastya.

I am glad that Elena and Nastya are not in the same group.

Yeah, it looks like #3 is out of the question...Amelie will probably get that spot instead.

But she just needs a nice run in LA and better her AO result of last year by one round, and she'll be a Top Five player.

Nastya plays Justine tonight. Justine leads 3-2, but Nastya won the last one in Leipzig.
Udachi Nastya!!

Nastia lost a winnable match. She had a 0-30 on Justine's serve at 5-4 in the final set, not to mention the disaster of the first set. If there's anyone to blame, it's only Nastia. I hope she won't be bad-mouthing about Justine again.

Nastia will be exhausted and will have to play the supremely fit and fresh Ai next. Does Nastia stand a chance?

I've only seen the match from the end of the 2nd set, but she lost it herself. She had chances and Justine didn't play her best tennis today. A missed opportunity, but she still has two matches to go.

Good luck Dinara, Justine and Kim

Very unfortunate of Myskina Justine has a top player instinct. It's not that easy to beat her in a the big tournament like this. It's a totally different story from Leipzig. She would do everything not to let Myskina win her twice in a row.

As for today match, Ai is a dangerous opponent as well. Plus, she has a day off, and Myskina must be tired out from the last night match. However, she still has a chance if she fights hard

i saw match when i got back after work ( taped it)
and i didnt see anything wrong with Justine, she played better after getting "treatment".
she moved remarkably well for an "ill" person

Nastya really messed the 1st set up pretty badly herself, she lost the agression and paid for it

still she had enough chances in 3rd too

all very disappointing

Nastya lost 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 to Justine. Most of the match will be on ESPN2 in 2 hours.
Today Nastya plays Ai Sugiyama. Ai beat Nastya twice in 2001. Nastya won their last meeting, in Eastbourne in 2002.
Udachi Nastya!!
