This is what the Guardian wrote about Nastya:
In A Nutshell:
Having spent a few years hovering around the Top 60, she suddenly rocketed to the edge of the Top 10 last year. Aiming to become the new Kournikova (off court, obviously).
Grass Or Pass:
Claims to be at her best on clay, but that looked like a cagey Muscovite's smoke screen when she stormed to consecutive finals at Edgbaston and Eastbourne last year. "I like grass", the sly Muscovite ventured. And places that star with 'E', by the looks of it.
Appearance. "She has that enticing, dark, Eastern European look and has definitely improved as she has matured", according to Ace magazine, which had her at No. 3 on it's sexiest players list.
She says backhand, so watch out for the forehand.
Myskina knows how to argue. A great fan of detective novels, she once wanted to be a criminal lawyer, "to work against the criminals and to clean up society". Instead she chose the equally noble task of bashing furry balls over a net.
Hero Or Zero:
With 7 Russians in the Top 100, there has been great competition for attention. But suddenly she's their No. 1 and noticed. "But all the young girls want to be like Anna", she said of the world No. 79.
You can expect to see her boyfriend Jens Gerlach, although given that he is also her coach it would be rude of him not to turn up.
Recently posed scantily clad on a horse for American GQ magazine. The horse apparently became visibly excited by the experience. "I was scared because it was really big", she says. "My father was suprised because thought it was going to be something to do with tennis."
Well-placed. Her friend Olga Morozova, a coach with the LTA in London, would help her settle in should she ever choose to defect.
Excellent relationship with the bevy of other Russians. "We're all friends," she says. "Not on court, but in life." 8/10.
