Probably I have set my goals too high again at this point - but I won't be happy with anything less than a QF.

Yeah I won't be happy with anything other than a quarterfinal appearance either. Of course that means I won't be happy. Her draw is really great until the quarters where she will be overmatched in all likelihood.

Hopefully three wins can do something for her confidence. I'd prefer a re-match with Hingis, but I would imagine that Dav will win that quarter. I can only hope my least favourite player (Davenport) doesn't destroy my two favourites (Myskina and Hingis).

Davenport is one of my least favorite players also. She is so boring. But if she plays Nastya I'm pretty sure Davenport will crush her.

Yes - to me Dav's game is big serve and smash.. boring. Not pretty to watch, just overpowering. Nastya was in peak form when she beat her in straight sets twice at the end of 2004. I'd do anything for her to find that form on the day. The last 2 matches Nastya has lost. One in three sets, the other in two. Davenport bagelled her in Zurich

If she is to play Davenport again this week I could see a bagel in her future. Yeah Davenport is too much of a power player with little variety. Plus I don't tend to like slow players. Davenport doesn't have the artistry like Nastya has or used to have. Whatever the case may be.

I recognize Davenport's tremendous hitting skills and tennis smarts, she's an outstanding player. She's also very likable and a real credit to the game. I just can barely stand watching her play! She's very boring to watch IMO....she doesn't move much and lumbers around on the court like she doesn't want to be there.
Why all the pessimism about Nastya's chances against Lindsay? Nastya has had success against Lindsay in tha past.

If Nastya can pull 3 wins in a row, I'm confident about her chances in the QF. And I have a feeling it will be against Hingis again

I can't think of a witty signature right now. I like turtles.

LOL! This is probably true. When Nastya is playing, i'm not biting my nails in the third set... Generally i'm biting my nails right from 0-0 in the first set.

Oh yes. Nastya has a habit of playing up or down to the level of her competition. My heart is in my throat from the start, regardless of who she's playing.
