Your best (and worst) Nastya moments/memories of 2005

Because these best of/worst of lists seem to be popping up in the offseason, i thought ide jump on the bandwagon and do one for nastya

Best: (tie) the win vs venus fed cup and watching in person bothe her sunday us open practice and her 1st round us open win

Worst: sitting front row as a nastya shot hits the middle of the net, giving elena likhovtseva a us open win and giving me nightmares for a few days

Best: her Wimbledon matches: not always great quality tennis, but she really fought for every point. At that point, I knew she would slowly turn back to her old self. I also loved her press conference at the US Open where she said she was really happy because her mom was better .

Worst: euhm, many bad matches, but her fed cup loss to May Pierce was so heart-breaking. Fed Cup is so important to her and she was on the edge of giving the decisive rubber to Russia, but she failed. She looked so depressed during the doubles match. I really thought she would go down in her first match in India because of that FC-loss. This loss was also very painful for me because that was one of the only matches I saw this year. I was so happy the first half of the match: 6-4 4-2, some good tennis and Nastya giving the third point to her team, but suddenly the lights went out.

worst: first half of the year, us open loss, fed cup losses and seeing her not be able to enjoy russia's win because she still felt bad

Best : the Wimbledon 3rd round. Just unbelievable.
Worst: to me it was the match that she lost in Doha against Martinez. I saw the end of the 2nd set and it was heartbreaking. I was so upset after the match that I took a walk around the hood to chill myself.

I can't think of a witty signature right now. I like turtles.

Best: The win over Lena D. at Wimbledon to get to the quarterfinals.

Worst: A lot to chose from here. I say the loss to Dechy at AO because her draw had really opened up. She easily should have made the semi-finals and had a legitimate chance at winning it all.

Oh, crap, I knew that Wimbledon thing would come up.

Perversely, my worst Nastya moment was when she single-handedly knocked the U.S. of A out of Fed Cup.

Best is when she won Kolkata, just because so many people were proclaiming her career was over and she'd never win another tournament.

Worst: (so many at the beginning of the year!) Probably her first round match at RG, I was in the stadium and couldn't believe my eyes! In the third set at some point I thought I could have done better than her against MSL

Bests: her win over Jankovic (my body hasn't fully recovered yet because I was watching a scoreboard )
Her win over Venus in FC
Her title in Kolkota

Worst: Every time Nastya looked sad.

Best: Every time Nastya smiled.
