Robin Soderling hasn't won a lot of matches on NTT tour lately. Last week he had a good run in Shangai but hole summer he seemed to be out of form. One good tournament out of four or something like that, one tournament out of four he would play good. Certain sign of change could be a routine first round win on ATP 500 Basel over American Mardy Fish. Swed needed 80 minutes to get to the second round with a 6-4 6-4 win. In next round Robin will play against Juan Monaco from Argentina. Monaco had some luck to beat Jarko Nieminem 6-3 4-6 7-5.
Here is what Soderling said after the match:
It was a good match, I was consistent on serve and aggressive on return. I really feel like there was no way for me to lose today. It's not that I was, you know, that much better but I simply felt really confident on court. Next is Juan? Oh, that should be interesting match. I didn't thought he would be able to beat Jarko but he's probably in great form than so it won't be easy. But surely, if I'm gonna play like today, I can win it. I just need to stay focused and than this season ending could be really successful.
