This is so bad ...
After Toronto she will not be a factor in Premier tournaments, she will be only in International where is her place right now. All i hope that will not drop lower to ITF lvl. Too bad, because she has the game an talent to dominate and all she needs more is BRAIN.

Ain't no way Sori gives up the boutique shops from Madrid or Rome... to go play some random tournament somewhere. she'll also risk losing a lot of twitter followers and that would really be a disaster for her!!!

Re: 2014 Western Europe adventure (Cheering Thread)

She will regret for not changing nothing right now (as many said, the coach for example)!
She is not 17 anymore, but she has the potential, she isn't dumb if we pay attention at how she speaks and how she express herself, to be fair, she is even more marketable than Simona for WTA, but ...
She's some kind of Sloane Stephens, in a strange way

A few people can win somebody's heart in a lifetime. But, she has already occupied a spot in mine

So cute off-court , so deadly on-court ! Simona Halep

Re: 2014 Western Europe adventure (Cheering Thread)

In my honest opinion it would be delusional to think that changing a coach would make a different player of her. She is a ballbasher which will make up for inconsistent results anyway, but in the end she is the one to play and make the decisions on court and the one to be in charge of her career choices off court.

If she doesn't realize herself that she is a tennis player and not a photo model and that time is ticking for all athletes out there, than she should be the one to blame.

Obviously.

The situation is not half as bad than back in 2010 where she was barely winning games against any journey woman she would bump into. Her latest losses all came against Top 20 or in-form players + Pereira who was playing really well that given day.

She is mostly losing the matches on her own lack of self-confidence which becomes evident in her atrocious TB stats, the amount of choked MPs or ridicolous BP conversions.

Playing some smaller events might help. However, history has taught me that she is likely to play even worse, the smaller the tournament is because of an obvious lack of motivation. The biggest shit shows I have seen her throwing have all been on MM level as far as I can remember.

I'm not on the same page with you , regarding this Curcubeu , so Please fire Ionita once and for all and find someone more suitable for you. Cahill or someone else.

And start entering international events Ffs . Playing Eastbourne instead of 's-hertogenbosch BTW.

Damn, and I though I was a downer

No, I respect your opinion, as I always do, but one thing troubles my mind. Her most recent great run was in Toronto where she was coached by both Mr. Ionita and Mr. Cahill. So maybe, MAYBE, someone else whispering in her year could do her some good. And I don`t have a different "landmark" except this one to think that a change could bring something new, hopefully something better, to the table.

Re: 2014 Western Europe adventure (Cheering Thread)

I see where you are coming from, but I get the impression that Sorana is one of the players who is cooling off very soon in her working relationship to coaches in general.

I'm actually as surprised as you are that she is still sticking to Ionita and I might talk complete crap now, but I think that she deep down knows that the majority of tennis coaches out there would demand much more discipline from her side than he does. He actually comes across as a 'softy' which I personally don't consider a bad thing, but the way Sorana was treating him in Marrakesh last year might indicate that their working relationship tends to be a bit one-sinded at times.

Here again, it's in Sorana's hands. A change of coaches might really bring some quick improvement, but he must have a good handling with Sorana or otherwise her inner 'Diva' might shoot him off faster than we think.

This .

Exactly what I said a while ago. That's why a change is needed . But if she thinks like you say (I really hope not) , that change might never come. As a professional Top 30 tennis player with more talent that could be exploited , it would be incredibly stupid to think like that .

Sorana should stop and think but thats the hardest thing to do in Tennis. Aga and Serena also get stressed in their matches.

She is drawn against a qualifier in R1.

R2 against Pereira most probably.

Damn! Another qualifier. She hasn't had much luck with qualifies this year.

Like Halep, Cirstea got a great draw. She really should defend her third-round position, with the 4th round not out of possibility.

BARBIE
is coming for your towel, too.
