Good luck against Ayumi Sorana.

Hmm, I wouldn't say that all matches she plays are on her racquet. Many are. But what if she plays Serena? Or Kvitova?

I think that she can beat Morita but Kerber is a mighty tough challenge. Kerber is a master of retrieving, counterpunching and consistency. I think it's a tough ask for Sorana and most likely I see her burying herself in a mountain of errors.

Hope she plays well against Morita first though.

This doesn't seem to be happening right now.

What is she doing? I realise that the crowd will be pulling for Ayumi, but still...

Down 5-2, double break, Ayumi to serve for the set.

Probably the usual bashing And it's also indoors and it's not what she prepared for Morita easily taking the first set. Of course, it's natural to hope this was just a bad start.

Idiotic

Talking about the importance of H2H in Sorana matches.

Good thing about being a Sorana fan is that we are used with this kind of results and we don't need to get melodramatic.

You nailed it.

And with the all mighty double bagel she received from Sesil, she was also clever enough to set a low for the ages.

She won three matches last week so we shouldn't have expected much. She could have match her career high ranking if she won this though.

I also might point out this might be due to fatigue; it's not easy going deep into one tournament and having to play another one in a different country in a span of less than 48 hours. Hopefully she can plan her scheduling better.

I have the same opinion. In fact from the moment I saw the scheduling of Tokyo I had some doubts about this match.
If she hasn't drawn Morita > no central court > rain postponed matches > playing Monday > more chances.
This time Sorana really has an alibi.

WTA Beijing, Main Draw:

Kirilenko v Makarova
Q v Pavlyuchenkova
Arvidsson v Cirstea
Halep v Sharapova

She trashed Sofia easily earlier this year, but H2Hs say nothing about Sorana. I hope she can win at least one match here.
