2016 adventure cheering thread

Sorana starting the year ranked #244. Let's hope she stays healthy and climbs back up where she belongs.

Does anyone know her tournament schedule for the next few months?

Re: 2016 adventure cheering thread

Since you started a whole new thread for 2016, let's hope she'll have a good year and this will have a lot of pages

Apparently she'll start the season in about two weeks, in Brazil with the two 25k's in the beach resorts near Sao Paolo. But let's wait and see what ultimately happens with her schedule...

Thanks for the info. It didn't seem right to keep posting in the '2015 adventure' thread. Let's hope she can build a little momentum, as it will be a long way back. She needs to at least get back in the top 200 in time for the FO qualifiers.

Nice to start the year with a win I watched a bit of the second set, obviously Sori has a long way to go but the easy power is still there

Yes some good powerful shots and she was serving better too, she still to find rhythm. But overall it was a good match.

Re: 2016 adventure cheering thread

WTA Rio... maybe? I think the brazilians did a poor schedule here. There are these two 25k's, then a two week gap, then WTA Rio followed by another three 25k's. Sori could possibly squeeze into Rio qualies, I remember last year was a mess, but that two week gap is really a nuisance

Re: 2016 adventure cheering thread

Sori defeated Sramkova 3-6, 7-5, 7-6(1)!

She was down 3-5* in the second before mounting her comeback. They traded early breaks in the 3rd before holding to 6-6. Sori was only 1-6 on BPs in the set, but saved her best for the tiebreak. She won the last 7 points.

Re: 2016 adventure cheering thread

Mental giant Broke her opponent when serving for the match and kept her serve when serving to stay in the match... like what, 3-4 times?

Very happy she managed to win such a close match

Yes it's really important to win those tights matches. She managed to turn the match around in the second and her service stats were way better after that

She'll be back, I have no doubt Irina Begu had a similar problem and when I joined this forum she was playing the same lonely brazilian 25k's... now she's seeded at all the slams. Same with Dulgheru, who went from playing 10k in Antalya after knee surgery, to being top50 again
