Ági said

after Tetreault match

„Nagyon jól játszott a lány, feldobta a hazai közönség, igaz magyar szurkolók is voltak a lelátón.

after Radwanska match

A legjobban Pennetta ellen teniszeztem. Sajnos Cincinnatiban hátsérüléssel bajlódtam, aztán megbetegedtem és alig tudtunk edzeni. Toronto igazából a regenerálódásról szólt. Ebből a szempontból nagyon örülök, hogy a US Openig még jó tíz napot tudunk folyamatosan, keményen edzeni. Még két napot maradunk itt, pénteken a Wilson egyik szurkolói rendezvényére vagyok hivatalos, aztán New Yorkban folytatjuk a felkészülést.

Winter Is Coming

"Fine words." Tyrion was unimpressed. "Words are wind. Who is this bloody savior?"
"A dragon." The cheesemonger saw the look on his face at that, and laughed. "A dragon with three heads."

I try to translate

after Tetreault match

She’s play very well, helps the domestic audience, but was a few Hungarians in fans too.
I haven’t known her, but before the match we can found some information for. After she surprise me because not play what I wait. We heard her play so passive, mostly defense, and no faults.

It was hard play, she play tennis unpleasantly. Served so good and at soon try to control. I can’t play in my better form, I have no serves, I moving slowly and my reaction time is slowly too I make many fault. But in the important rallies I know what can I do and I play it. The weather was really hot and the wind is strong too what make a lot of problem.

I will be play better against Radwanska for win. – to estimate Ági in Monday night and she said pretty much washed-out her immune system for a drugs, she left a lot of trainings, but now at whole.

Re: News, Articles, Updates, Interviews, ...

after Radwanska match

I not explain oneself and of course hurt me how I lost, but that’s true too the result not mirrored my play. I was a little bit nervy at start, but after 0:2 every game was very close and many time was advantage for me. Maybe the first set could have been opposite result. At the end I lost my self-confidence and the second set was easy.

Radwanska played very well, didn’t make faults, shot the lines, and felt my minds; she’s play at 100%. Uselessly I play better than Monday it wasn’t enough for Radwanska. For example I serve better than Monday she’s returning so hard, shot the balls to the baseline. Maybe second-third shot after my serve should I play better but after her returns were hard to control or to attack.

Of course could won a more match in last weeks, but I played better match by match. My better play was against Penetta. Unfortunately, I have to toil my back injury in Cincinnati, then I to sicken and we can hardly to practice. Approximately, Toronto was when I regenerated. In this opinion I happy how we can practice to the next 10 days to US Open. We stay here the next two days, I have to go the Wilson fan party at Friday, and then we continue the preparation In New York. Unfortunately I not met Monika Szeles but I could like so much, I hope I will be meet her in US Open.

Karl-Heinz are very tolerant for me, helping a lot, to encourage, he said “Don’t worry. Good what you try to play, you play better than weeks ago.” He not just wigs me. I learn so much for Karl. I feel to improve in my play, in tactics, in technics and in my kilter. We shake together as well, I trust you to maximize, and I enjoy the practices. Need a time for my works results, it’s not come at soon.

Re: News, Articles, Updates, Interviews, ...

There's a new part of Ági's homepage. It's named Ági's World

http://www.szavayagi.hu/agivilaga/

It seems a kind of blog.

Some from the first post

She visited the amusement park of Toronto and Niagara Falls.
There were ticket booking problems when they flew from Toronto to New York last saturday.

She thinks it was good not to play at New Heaven, because now she has enough time to train in New York.
Trained with Safina, Herczog, Marosi and Peer.

Her hotel next to the Central Park, so Agi and Karl jog in the Central Park every day.

There was Fila AO collection photoshoot in Manhattan. It was taken at the top of a skyscraper. There's a five-court tennis club there.

Winter Is Coming

"Fine words." Tyrion was unimpressed. "Words are wind. Who is this bloody savior?"
"A dragon." The cheesemonger saw the look on his face at that, and laughed. "A dragon with three heads."

Re: News, Articles, Updates, Interviews, ...

Ági after doubles R1:

I am sad that I wasn't very successful at the last Slam of the year. The first match is always the hardest, and my draw wasn't very easy. I knew that Peer is a tough opponent, I was a little afraid of her. She is not the kind of player you want to face in the first round, but that's it, if I want to move forward, I have to win no matter who the opponent is. The pre-tournament trainings went well, this is why I am sad. I played well during the practice sessions. I feel that we are moving forward with Karl-Heinz, but even he cannot turn everything around in a few weeks, we still have a lot to work on. I lost this match on the mental level, as I was walking onto the court, I was just frightened. I was just pushing the balls back and there was absolutely no power in my shots. I was really afraid of this match and I wanted to win. We worked a lot on my serve and I think it was working well, but it is just one element of the game.

I liked plying doubles with Virginie. In the first set we led 4-1 and then we missed a few easy shots. The other team got better and we weren't agressive enough. I am happy that we could turn the match around. We will play the next match on friday.

-------

After doubles R2:

Even if we lost, I think I played well today and I really liked being out there and play tennis, there was absolutely no fear in me. During the match there was some disagreement between Razzano and me, and maybe that cost us the match. I felt a lot more comfortable on court than at the last two matches and I could experiment with a few things. It's a pity that we didn't take the opportunities in the second set, but the other team had more experience together as a team.

Karl-Heinz Wetter:
It is sad that the US Open Series didn't get off to a good start, because Ági was sick and we couldn't train very hard. We had to wait until she got better. She had the flu and she also had some problems with her back. I think these few weeks were positive in the end, because now Ági knows exactly what she should work on, and finally I had the opportunity to watch her play in a not-hungarian environment. She worked a lot on her forehand and it did get better. Out of her matches, she played the best against Pennetta, she was very aggressive and she tried everything. We still have a lot to work on, but Ági works hard and the results will come.

Re: News, Articles, Updates, Interviews, ...

There was a journalist guy in Ági's team who was responsible for writing the articles for her website and he also made interviews with her. He also published these interviews and videos in a Hungarian sports website (Sporthirado). His name is Erik Siklós and during the US Open he was fired because Ági's management wasn't satisfied with his work. Last weekend he wrote an article on this sports website about Ági and that he was fired. He wrote how much he always cared about her, always tried to explain to everyone that she is a great tennis player and that he was always Ági's friend. He also wrote that in New York he wanted to interview Ági but her coach was also there and he was told that Ági requested that the interview be in English. He also mentioned that Ági hurt him with her behaviour and that there are big problems with her if she is unwilling to speak her mothertongue. The title of the article was something like this: Agnes Szavay unwilling to speak Hungarian.

In response to this article, Ági published a letter on her website. Here is the translation:

Dear Fans,

First of all I would like to thank you for all your support and encouragement I received from you during the US Open and before. I am really sorry that this Grand Slam didn't go as I planned, but luckily I still have some opportunities this year to improve.

Yesterday I was thinking a lot whether I should write or not, but I think that you, who support me and root for me, deserve to receive information from both sides. I was thinking about reacting to Erik Siklós' article, because I don't want to enter into a fight. A lot of things were written about me that were half-thruths, but I try to live with that. My coaches always advised me not to read what is written about me, but I feel this situation is different.

I am really sorry that Erik Siklós is using our disagreement to generate more traffic on that website he publishes on and not handle it as a private issue. I do not want to go into details, because I don't want to make public every little misunderstanding and disagreement we had nowadays. I never expressed any unhappiness and always favored Erik when he wanted to interview me, even when it was not to be published on my site. I feel that he always had my support, whether he was working for the Hungarian Radio, or commenting for Sport 1 tv, or he wrote articles for the Sporthirado website. I thank him for his work with my website, but he knows as I do, that he was paid for that. I also think it would have been better if he wrote the article on my first round match based on his own opinion, and not on somebody else's without even seeing the match himself.

Since we had these issues between my management, him and me, I asked the WTA to allow my coach to be present at the interview. As Karl-Heinz doesn't speak Hungarian, I asked that the interview be in English, and I knew that it wouldn't be a problem for Erik, he speaks English. Sadly there had been a few occaisons when a few changes had been made in what I had said and a different version had been published. That's why I wanted to have a third person in the room.
I am really sorry that during the last few months Erik didn't have time to have that conversation he mentioned.

I would like to apologize if I offended anyone by not giving the interview in Hungarian. From now on, I consider this issue as settled and I don't want to deal with it anymore. Once again, I am sorry if I offended anyone. I wish Erik a succesful work.

Thank you for your support.

Yours,

Ági
