Black Cable Channel Nabs Sitcom Pair

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - TV One, a new cable venture targeting black viewers, has acquired the rights to the sitcoms "Good Times" and "227."
Both series, which ran for five seasons each, will appear on TV One's schedule in primetime when the channel launches Jan. 19. Financial terms of the deal with Sony Pictures Television were not disclosed.
TV One, a joint venture between Comcast Corp. and Radio One, is aimed at black viewers ages 25-49.
