American Philosophy = Might Makes Right

"We can no longer permit any nation, or group of nations, to attempt to settle their arguments with bombs and bayonets. If we continue to abide by such decisions, we will be forced to accept the fundamental philosophy of our enemies, namely that "Might Makes Right."

- President Harry S. Truman, addressing the United Nations after WWII

Well, is 'might makes right' the philosophy of our enemies? Or is it the philosophy of the United States.

Proud to be an American
Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

What political situation isn't truly a case of might makes right.

Rule of law as I told you before, Volcana, only exists with the backing of the rule of force.

"You behave or we punish you."

Caveman or Frenchman when you boil it down to its basics that is how all civilization works.

Sure first they might warn you or fine you, but if you don't pay the fine they will take your property and if you resist they will try to throw your ass in jail; and ultimately if you resist that action enough you will be hurt or killed.

Who makes the rules, the mighty.

Who enforces the rules, the mighty.

Who decides what's right ultimately, the mighty.

Luckily you get to live in the most tolerant of the mighty countries to have ever ruled the world.

Enjoy your freedom to complain, but you're smarter than this naive nonsense.

Cheers

There were plenty of those situations, when the strong politicians supported by militaries had a decency to leave after losing the elections, while having all the means to force their own stay in power.

And what would have happened if they didn't respect the will of the electorate?

Give you a hint...

...nah, I think you can imagine the answer if you re-read the posts above.
