Watching Belgium - Russia (soccer) from World Cup 1986 in Mexico with Lei Clijsters.

At a certain moment Georges Grün is replaced by Clijsters. And would you believe it? For one second I thought Kim would come running on the pitch.
Then of course I thought: Clijsters, Lei Clijsters of course.
This must BTW be one of the best matches a Belgian national soccer team ever played. Belgian TV shows it because they celebrate 50 years of television. It's only the second time I watch the whole match. The emotion is still there.
(Some players were even only semi-professional; they played soccer and worked part-time, like Danny Veyt of Waregem).
Great stuff.

2000-2007: My "Kim years". My best years as a tennis fan. A few bitter losses but a lot of great matches and great wins. Thank you, Kim Clijsters!
26.03.2009: More Kim years to come!

...of course, the World Cup is not as important or prestigious as Belgian Player of the Year...because Player of the Year takes into account the whole season...not just two months...

Might have been the best match at the World Championships, this match could have finished 6-6. Despite conceding 4 and 3 goals both goalkeepers were excellent. Would give Jean Marie Pfaff the men of the match reward.
