Hurricane Isabel

I'm surprised there's no threads about this (maybe I missed it?)

It's just below category 5 now and they said on CTV it's not expected to weaken before it hits North Carolina.

They also said it might be the first hurricane to hit ontario since Hazel 50 years ago.

The projected path is here:

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics...F/151458W5.gif

It will reach ontario by around Friday this week. It's really exciting and scary at the same time. Though I'm sure it's just plain scary for the people in North Carolina.. .Do we have any posters from around there? They must really be preparing for this.

are they doing much to prepare? Are you gonna board up your windows and stuff like that? It's pretty scary that it's not expected to weaken before it hits land.

Where I am, it may still be classified as a hurricane when it gets here but it will have gone over land for so long that it will be a lot weaker. But it should still be a hell of a storm.

Well they havent done much yet, its not supposed to land till Thursday so I think everyone is still waiting...... I know regardless were going to atleast have some nasty winds and will loose our power so Im going to go out and buy some stuff, just incase..

Im actually semi freaked out because they are saying its going to land, this is as of right now, at Virginia Beach, which is all of an hour or so from my house... But again Im not going to worry too much until Wednesday when they KNOW whats going to happen..

I may not have internet access for a day or so though, what WILL I DO?!?!?!!?! LOL!!!

Come back EVENTUALLY Cappy!! Ok this clearly was written back in a day when I still had faith..

hmm, well knowing the way hurricanes love to back dat thing up and hit directly over Wilmington, NC we are keeping an eye on it, too. I'm in the outskirts on the border between NC/SC near the coast and everytime they say the hurricane is barely going to miss us it backs up and hits us dead on.

I'm just glad that we have had a very dry two weeks because if this storm had come along a month earlier we would be in big do do. I mean all the trees would've come down and thats for sure.

Last big one brought a tree down on my sister's car and flattened it.

Thanks Mace, DueceDiva, King Satan! I will. I feel for the stray cats outside my house (well their tame but live outside but we feed them).. One just had kittens. We'll have to bring in the dog and put him on the porch or the laundry room. That's the part I hate.

Believe it or not, we pretty much don't sweat it until we know for sure. We get so many. I think I've been through 5. I remember one time we were off of school cause they thought it was going to hit, it didn't. So we went back to school the next day. Well it changed its mind and backed up decided to hit. So we had to leave school early. Hmm, I was living way out in the country and we didn't have electricity for a week, I think. I live in the middle of town now and I doubt my lights will be off that long, if it hits here.

....This is fucked up, fucked up....

This is your blind spot, blind spot.
It should be obvious, but it's not.

You cannot kickstart a dead horse
You just crush yourself and walk away
I don't care what the future holds
Cause I'm right here in your arms today
With your fingers you can touch me

I'll be your black swan, black swan
I'm for spare parts, broken up.

Long Beach? It will be scary.. But as long as you have walls around you, someone warm nearby an1d something to drink, it will also be fun..
