How much do you envy others?

It's normal that people get jealous, when it's about love. But what I want to know is how much do you envy in everyday life these situations:

1. Ppl who look better than you do/ have a better shaped body?

2. Ppl in school/uni that have better marks than you do?

3. Ppl who drive a cooler car than you do?

4. Ppl who live in a nicer house than you do?

5. Ppl who are in love, while you are single?

Actually I don't envy anyone judging by those questions.

1. I'm gay, and if I see a cute guy, why would I be envious of him?

2. I suppose I had this envy in highschool because it was more competitive. I always wanted to be #1 in English and I wasn't. I was #3 out about of 130 students. (We had ranks because the way Australian highschools work we have assessments that lead up to the final exam.) Although I did get #1 on several essays. At uni, it's different, too many people and you have other priorities like work.

3. I don't drive.

4. My ideal house would something like an English cottage or a well-built house in a middle of a farm. That's not really a priority for me now. I'm in Sydney, and I'm happy with the house I live in.

5. I'm single, but I'm not envious of couples. It's not a priority for me now, and I'm in no rush.

I couldn't care less how nice my house is compared to others, and I don't drive... so that cancels out two of the options My marks would be top notch if I applied myself, so I don't envy others there... I assume I can do just as well as them, and only have myself to prove that to... I like being single, so that crosses off number 5

Which leaves number 1. I would be lying if I said I never envied people who look "better" than I do. But as long as it's healthy envy and not obsession, it's okay

Sam, to your #1 answer: not even if the guy has a sixpack and you don't?

For me it's only #1 a yes.

No. I don't really want a six-pack. If I want it, I'll try and get it, there's no use been envious of others.

1. There are lots of people who look better than me, but I don't mind because I look good enough and I'm happy with what I have.

2. I've always had the potential to do extremely well in school, so if someone gets higher grades, I know they are not necessarily smarter, just more diligent. Even without killing myself I manage just fine --- so I don't care to envy.

3. Sometimes. But then I know I will soon earn my own.

4. Not really.

5. Bastards.

None really I suppose if I did have to pick one it would be #1, I mean who doesn't get jealous of someone of their sex looking way better?

I couldn't care less about #5 love is yicky. I can't drive and I was never into cars, if it works I'll drive it don't care what it looks like. And I don't own my own house so I don't really care about that. I've always done well in school it's one of the things I pride myself on so I'm not jealous of anyone there.

1. Ppl who look better than you do/ have a better shaped body? No cos i am fit and know if i want some more muscle or whatever i can work at it...but i am contented as i am.

2. Ppl in school/uni that have better marks than you do? Not in Uni i just get decent results and cruise! im not competitive like i was at high school where i competed with the same people from years 7-12. I had a small year and topped four of six subjects but still came 2nd overall...

3. Ppl who drive a cooler car than you do? I dont care for material things.

4. Ppl who live in a nicer house than you do? Same as 3,

5. Ppl who are in love, while you are single? Yes, but i know i wont have the time for a proper relationship at this stage of my life having to work, go to uni and have a social life at the same time!

Good luck to the Aussie and Balkan girls!

I used to envy people in relationships but it doesn't really bother me at this moment in my life.

As for people who are healthy, weathy and wise, well I always say two out of three ain't bad and anyway I like taking the bus to work - it's ecological

I envy people who are VERY rich and dont have to worry about their future and can do what they want, buy everything etc.

Vera Zvonareva, Anastacia Myskina

Ana Ivanovic, Tatiana Golovin, Kim Clijsters, Dinara Safina
