Question Does tooth whitening really work?

I have tried quite a few toothpastes that claim to 'gently whiten teeth' but i can honestly say that they do not work! I have tried Aquarefresh whitening - doesnt work, colgate whitening - doesnt work and some more.

Have any of u's tried any? and actually work?

Pearl Drops. But only brush with it three times a week or less, the dentist told me that it can remove tooth enamel because it is that abrasive on getting rid of stubborn stains. That is the original whitening toothpaste though which started all the other brands brining out whitening versions.

Alternatively, write a letter to Serena Williams. I don't know what the hell she uses on her teeth but I want some when I get my brace off next week.

I've always been told by my dentist that the whitening stuff isn't very good for your teeth. I suppose the whitening toothpastes you mentioned are pretty harmless though. But I'd stay away from the real whiteners.

I use them too, but reckon its all a gimmick.

Perhaps there´s a George Michael website that can tell you what he uses..? Tipp-ex?

Teeth that are too white aren't beautiful anyway. I prefer normal natural coloured teeth.

In my experience those products do not work. If it were that easy, you'd never have to worry about staining etc.

Ok - there were some studies done on whitening toothpastes a year or so ago - from what i remember - the only brands which gave any improvement in tooth whiteness were aquafresh whitening and colgate - all others were no more effexctive than normal toothpastes - and that includes pearly drops.

As far as i am aware- the real whitening that used to be available from dentists is no longer available - but i cant remember why atm - (too much to drink )

Hope this helps, but realy fancy asking such questions on a staurday night

How would you feel

I used white strips once about 6 years ago and my teeth are still super white.
